“The best place to go for lunch”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

I had the shrimp tacos with a side of guacamole. I lost count at 18 shrimp. Absolutely great. The home made corn chips n salsa that they bring out before the meal comes are so addicting. The picco de galio that came with the tacos was fresh and hand made, with just the right amount of spice. My husband had the enchilada
Special of the day, which also looked good. Service excellent and staff friendly. If you like Mexican food, stop here.

“Looking for REALLY good Mexican food?”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

Over the many years of living in the Southwest (Douglas (RIGHT on the Mexican border), Tempe, Phoenix and now Surprise, Arizona), we have eaten a whole lot of Mexican food! Anita's Cocina in Wickenburg is one of our favorites even though it is somewhat of a drive away. "Cocina" is Spanish for "Kitchen" and this one is like visiting your favorite Mexican relative for lunch or dinner! The tortilla soup is awesome--one I always seem to order visit after visit! Think perfect seasoning, not too hot, but a nice flavor. Think big chucks of chicken and a small cheese crisp, too! The salsa has nice heat, but, won't scald your mouth. Restaurant staff is friendly and helpful, checking back to make sure all is well. Anita's is not a large restaurant, but, is worth the wait if you visit during peak dining times. My only complaint is the women's bathroom--located way in the back with fixtures that truly need an update and perhaps just a wee bit more care!

“Standard tex mex food”

Nice atmosphere. Margueritas lacked punch. Food pretty standard. Macho nachos a bit soggy. 'Service friendly. An OK choice. Good location.

“Wonderful meal. ”
Reviewed 10 October 2013 via mobile

We stopped in after seeing a billboard on the highway.
We shared the quesadilla with the works and shared it. This was delicious and the staff is fantastic. A early dinner and our adult beverages were perfect. Atmosphere is great and did I mention the staff they truly were superb! We will be back.

“Like!”

Anita's was recommended by a friend as a stop by place for our trip from Scottsdale, AZ to Laughlin, NV. It was my first time in Wickenburg and I found it to be a lovely historic old town. Anita's was packed full of locals on a recent Tuesday night visit. There are several dining rooms, some with big screen TV's for your enjoyment although we chose to be seated in another room. The large family gathering stuffed into the relatively small dining room we were seated in made for a rather cramped and loud dining experience. The homemade salsa's were good although I would have preferred a little less cilantro as it was a little overbearing. Two of us ordered a half order size of the quesadilla with the works. The other member in our party had a difficult time finding something gluten free to accommodate her dietary limitations. She settled for a steak fajita dinner. We also ordered 2 Margarita's and found them to be just average. The salsa was good, the atmosphere could have been good without the confusion, service could have been better if they had had more people working but the staff was friendly and worked quickly to get our drinks and food of the table. Even though I wasn't blown away by the food or drink I wouldn't mind trying it again sometime, maybe when it is less busy and I could order a Tamale.
