For our 11th wedding anniversary celebration, I reserved the full 3 day weekend package online, Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, Dinner and Breakfast, Train Ride to the Canyon, Canyon Tours that included the Bus Tour, Sunset Jeep Ride and Helicopter flight, lodge on the canyon, and train ride back to Williams. No matter what tours you take, it was a once in a life time experience, do this. I was absolutely stunned by the majestic canyon beauty. Words and photos both will fail to describe what its really like to see the canyon. The Grand Canyon Hotel was clean and the lobby/bar amazing. We sprung for the Luxury Parlor Class train ride and loved it, but I didn't see any sad faces in coach class and certain we would have enjoyed it as well. Later that night and totally exhausted, we fell into bed and in the morning woke up to wild elk grazing outside our lodge bedroom window. The Maverick Helicopter ride was spectacular. If you have ever wanted to do something in your life that will be a part of you for the rest of your life, do this trip.

Check-in was quick, our room was clean and spacious, beds were very comfortable. Our package included breakfast and dinner buffets, which were very good. When we arrived back from the canyon, check in again was very quick, for the amount of people arriving after our train trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for two nights in conjuction with the train ride to the Grand Canyon. Next time We will drive the extra hour to the park -- this way we would have access to our car also. The lobby is the best part of the hotel -- It was going through a much needed remodeling on the exterior which apppeared to be badly in need of due to the elements-- snow/heat extremes etc. The real problem is that I coould not get any sleep due to the rock hard beds and no down pillows -- only foam which due not work for a bad back. The food in the cafeteria (that comes with the AAA package) is bad. We ended up eating on the second day at a local restaurant in town. Some place on a corner that was far superior to the cafeteria. Best to drive on by the hotel.

Everything about our stay-save the food at Maswick Lodge was perfect. We arrived from Cape Cod on Friday night for the Saturday steam train to the South Rim. I booked the AAA rails to the rim plus tour, although I'm not a big tour traveller. It was perfect and an unbeatable value: $966 for 3 with meals, transfers, train RT, motorcoach tour, and three nights hotel, $40 gift shop credit, taxes included. Our room was large, clean and comfortable, comparable to a Radisson or Westin. Great pool. Food was surprisingly fresh with omlette, pasta and carving stations. Friendly staff. The western show was fun and the steam train ride unforgettable with entertainment. Check in was seamless and all bag transfers were taken care of. It was a perfect vacation except for the Maswick cafeteria, more on that under that heading.

We stayed at the hotel last week. We had a suite for my daughter and grand children 2 & 4 years old and a standard room for us. If you have heavy cases do not expect porter service. Instead you take a cart yourself for the luggage. We took the standard room which was clean and well kept but was facing another block of rooms so no views. The daughter, husband and grandchildren had the suite. It was basic but did have a living area and 2 x queen beds. There was only a bar in the hotel which had a very small bar type menu We were recommended to dine in town at a GREAT restaurant called the Red Raven. Fantastic service, great food and reasonably priced. We would highly recommend this to anyone!
The downside was the refurbishment on the cladding that started each morning at eight. The trains would be positioned each of the two nights we stayed with whistles blowing at three AM which woke us all up! The Railway Hotel is more a motel than a hotel with limited facilities but the small indoor pool was OK but not great! Would we stay there again? No unless you do not mind the limited facilities and the standard room price of 155 US or the suite price of 185 US per night!

Reminded me of an older chain hotel/motel. Rooms were fairly clean, but old. Everyone was friendly. Definitely not worth the price we paid. Will find somewhere else to stay next time.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while on a trip to the Grand Canyon. The staff was very helpful, and our first floor room was very clean and comfortable. Since it is only steps away from the Grand Canyon Railway Depot and the Cafe, this is where to stay if you are visiting the Canyon by train. We traveled by Amtrak to Williams Junction, and the hotel shuttle was waiting for us as we got off the train. The next morning we boarded the Grand Canyon Railway train to Grand Canyon National Park.

We enjoyed the food at the Cafe directly across from the Hotel. The buffet breakfasts and dinners were very good, and featured a wide choice of items.
