My family and I were pleasantly surprised at our stay in this hotel. My initial expectations weren't that high given that this is a well travelled hotel in a small rural town, but I was amazed. We stayed in a two queen suite with a separate living area. Our room rivaled some of the JW Marriots we've stayed in at major cities. Newly remodeled and well appointed. In addition, the staff is as friendly as you'd expect in a small town, the buffett is great, and the whole train exeperiance left nothing to be desired. We'd defiantly come back.

Very disappointed in the way this hotel runs for the price you pay for a room. They don't offer any amenities that aren't expensive. The room was nothing special, we spent most of our time in town because everything at the hotel was so expensive. Could of stayed at a cheaper hotel with same amenities and had the same experience. You can still take the train without staying at this hotel which is what we'll do next time.

The hotel was extremely large and it was cumbersome to find our rooms. Hallways were long...Dining is in a separate building in which you have to pass through a gift shop to reach the dining facility. The food was ample and satisfying, but not great cuisine. My daughter, however, was in heaven over the biscuits and gravy served for breakfast. Everything is very well organized and well thought out. The morning shoot-out is very sweet; a little corny. Teenagers may find it all very corny, but seniors and families with smaller children will love it. Everyone tries very hard and for service I will give it 5 stars.

Green Features: This is the first place I have seen refillable shampoo and body wash bottles present in the hotel bathrooms, and I was pleasantly impressed.

This hotel is small and nice, just on the way to Grand Canyon. Its clean and the front desk staff is very friendly. The location is great, close to restaurants and downtown. Would recommend if you are visiting Grand Canyon.

We love our stay here on the way and back from the Canyon.
Wonderful hotel and people! Beautiful reception area with a great fireplace and relaxing sitting area. Rooms were comfortable and cozy, with nice amenities.

Four sisters doing the Grand Canyon train trip had big time fun. The hotel cost is higher then we usually pay but the location is unique. It is recommended if you are doing the Grand Canyon train trip. Split four ways is about $40 each. We were well served by staff. Rooms were very clean restful.

Stayed there during a mini vacation while moving from CA to Denver. We stayed as part of the train tour to the grand canyon with an overnight stay at the maswik lodge. A memorable experience. We arrived late and did not get a chance to use the dinner as part of our plan, so the front office arranged for us to get box lunches to take with us when we left at the end of our trip. Very appreciative. They stored my bike while we stayed at the grand canyon. The buffets for lunch and dinner were plentiful and good. The staff was very friendly on both days. A fun way to get our first experience of the grand canyon.

The lodge was warm and comfortable. The rooms were very nice and the service was genuine and friendly.

Green Features: I really appreciate all the business does to recycle, compost and reduce waste.
