My friends and I did a road trip on our vacation in Vegas from Canada to Williams. What a great night in Williams. Great little town and the Red Garter was a true hilight on this trip. We stayed in the Big Bertha room that had a huge bathroom, comfortable beds and a balcony with a view! The owner was so kind and full of history about the b&b. It was such a great visit. I would definitely stay there again!

We picked this place because it was a historic property and we were not disappointed. The owners are wonderful folks, taking time and care with the place and with the guests. John entertained us at breakfast with fascinating stories of the history of this former brothel. The rooms were old and charming, and impeccably clean. If you want a chain hotel, don't stay here! If you want a place with character and wonderful history, this is for you. Deb bakes fresh pastries every morning, and you will not want to miss the cinnamon rolls. The coffee is great, too, and breakfast is included. If you are a history buff, you will love this hotel. We'd love to come back again. We met some very interesting folks!

Room Tip: We stayed in room #2 which was a little small, but quiet. We peeked in at the front room, which has...

What a perfect stay our time the Red Garter Inn was. Our stay is already two months ago but the nice warm memories are still there..We stayed in the Red Garter Inn because we wanted to stay at an individual place next to the Grand Canyon Railway which we wanted to take. The Red Garter Inn is a very unique place with a very nice and helpful owner and very nice stuff. The sweets from the bakery are more than delicious. Without a doubt I would stay there again.

We were booked at the Inn in October. The government shutdown closed the Grand Canyon. We called 6 days before our booked date to cancel because of this. We were told they had a 10-day cancellation policy and we would only receive a refund if they were able to rent the room. I kept checking the web page and noticed that the room was no longer available. We did not get a refund. We called the facility and the owner checked and said that our account had been closed "by mistake". He said "We were able to make a "little" money on that room that night." We received $115 of our $150 payment back. They discount their rooms a few days ahead, hence the discrepancy. I will never book a room there again.

Please do be aware. When making a reservation at a B&B you are contracting for a big piece, in our case 25%, of the inn's total income. Cancellation policies let you know how seriously the inn takes your reservation and the guests options always include canceling in a timely manner or buying trip insurance. Due to the government shutdown we were buried in cancellations but were happy to refund, belatedly, all of the income we were able to recover for that room/night.

We stayed 1 night, Oct.25, 2013 in the "Madam's Room". All rooms are on the 2nd floor, up a narrow stairway. This room is in the middle, no outside windows, which means no noise from outside. The room is very neat & clean, the smallest room, with the smallest price. It has a private shower. So much history, and Williams is the coolest town in Az. on Route 66! Many places to hike around the town too. Innkeeper John let us borrow his personal book on the town, as we got in early, and we found neat things to do. What a nice guy! The bakery was delicious and much more to offer than I expected. Williams, Az. the place to stay before heading to the Grand Canyon and to enjoy Route 66. Many good restaurants in town. Stay here!!!

First time ever in the south-west of the US. Never heard of Williams before, but that has changed since our 2-day stay in September 2013 at the Red Garter Inn. This place deserves the highest ranking. Of course, the staircase is steep, the train across the street can make some noise (even in the middle of the night), you can hear cars and people downstairs and outside. But hey, this is on the historical Route 66 and you are staying in a old building... Stop nagging! The owners are superfriendly, breakfast is lovely, Williams is a busy little town (but not annoyingly busy like Las Vegas), and then the opportunity to stay in the best gal's room of this historical brothel on Route 66... I loved the history of the place. I can only recommend it!

The history of this place (a former brothel) makes it interesting to stay in. The room was fine, with the highest bed ever. Our bathroom had no bath, only a shower, which was slightly disappointing. I was cold all night, with the air-con in the hallway pushing icy air under the door. But all this was forgotten as I drank steamy coffee and ate fresh warm homemade cinnamon rolls at breakfast. A real treat.
