“A huge savings over other canyon motels”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

This motel was by far the least expensive I found in the area without being a complete dump. I wasn't expecting a lot to be honest. The desk clerk, Angel, was friendly. The room was larger than I'd expected. The decor had been updated and wasn't too bad. I noticed the airflow from the ac was not strong at all. I pulled out the filter and it was caked thickly with dust. This is unacceptable to me. I rubbed the caked material off in one section leaving the filter along the wall so housekeeping could see that this needed attention. The ac worked much more powerfully as well since it could actually get air through it!!! Otherwise, the room was clean. The ice maker was broken in our building and there were no vending machines as well which was irritating, but again at a savings at over $200 vs other canyon motels I can deal with it.

Stayed in a room off the property. Had to DRIVE to use the pool & hot tub (that didnt work) pool wasn't heated like they stated & very dirty. No ice machine, had to drive to the office for this. No phone, fridge or microwave in the room. Staff very unfriendly. Very over priced for what you dont get

We had a great experience at this hotel. They had availability even though I booked last minute, which is great for a hotel so close to the canyon (about 30 minutes). The staff was very friendly, the food at the restaurant was great and the room was big and clean with comfy beds. The only con was that there was no microwave in the room, but the woman at the front was very nice and let us use the employees' next to the check out desk. :) I would definitely stay here again.

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The staff was so nice and the rooms are very big. Breakfast was very good and the swimming pool was very nice after a day in the canyon. Near the hotel is a small supermarket with souvenirs. A ride to Williams is about 30 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel!

For those who plan to visit grand canyon national park, this hotel is a good option in terms of cost. Since all the other hotels close to the canyon charge way too high on the stay for a day or two. Though the hotel is 15-20 miles far from the canyon, it is affordable. The place is calm and is right in front of the flinstone park which is really cool. There is garden and pool and we can spend a gala time.

Given the price I expected the hotel to be at least a 3 star and it comes close. Rooms were nice and the facility very clean. The hotel sports a bar which serves food as well as a restaurant. The back side of the hotel sports a nice garden and the surprise was a nicely done pool area with its own sculpted garden/jaccuzi. WiFi was available and strong probably because the staff blocked streaming video i.e. YouTube.

But alas, the hotel seems suffer from lack of attention to detail. It is the small things that sour ones experience. Most of the ice machines were broken (you had to pay for ice), the air conditioning units struggled which tells me they went a little small for these decent sized rooms, there was no stationary or hotel map to outline where items were located, no stationary for notes/no phone books, the lady on duty when we arrived did not like answering the phone - in fact she refused to, and the host that was working in the hotel restaurant looked as though he had been out on a binge and wished he were somewhere else. At least they were courteous but given the food was somewhat pricey we chose to look elsewhere. Lastly, given the size of the establishment I was surprised they had no laundry room for guests to use - they advised me to drive across the highly to the Flintstone Campground.

I would highly recommend lodging in Tusayan over this location. The only positive side note was that the hotel sits next to a 50's styled gas station which had about 10 antique cars of various vintage on display and sported a 50's theme gift shop. Walking through that was a trip in itself.

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere but stop to see the antique cars....
