“Suprised by the room!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

We had left the Grand Canyon El Tovar a day early and needed a room for the night, booked this one without seeing it. Drove into Williams Az and notice that they had played up the Route 66 theme for all it's worth. Motel was located on the old hiway 66 and looked to be of the 60's era. The room had been tastefully decorated with a 4poster bed, nice tile at the door way and in the bath area and all the hardware in the bath and sink area was high end and looked fine. Room was small but confortable and quiet. The next morning we had the breakfast of yogurt and toast with sauage, good coffee and clean. We would stay there again if we were in the area.

I booked this for my wife and I en-route to a tour around the Grand Canyon area. Check-in was faultless with a friendly welcome, full explanation of the amenities and a personal recommendation for a local restaurant for dinner (with an offer to book a table for us - 4th July, was a bit busy).

The room was adequate - nicely decorated but rather small and with a peculiar bathroom layout (shower/toilet in one area, sink adjoining the living area), but it's functional (just remember to draw the blinds!).

Breakfast, described as continental, was a basic cooked sausage/egg with options for waffles, cereal, toast etc - perfectly good and a clean dining area.

Parking is a little crowded - depending on the size of trucks people seem to favour, but was manageable.

Overall, pretty good value and perfectly good room. I wouldn't like to spend much time here, but it suited our purpose well.

Look around on TripAdvisor for a unique, but affordable room. Found a few but the Downtowner had a good rate for the three of us. The pics online were very accurate of what we encountered. Newly redecorated, soft comfortable beds, clean bathroom. Everything we needed after a long day at the Grand Canyon. The staff was attentive and friendly. The free breakfast was just what was needed to get back on the road. Clean, comfortable, friendly, and affordable.

What a top notch place to stay. The room was great. A lot of remodeling was done to make this a great experience. Highly recommend. Continental breakfast was just right. Location to downtown made it at easy walk for a walk down Route 66 and downtown m

This is a first class motel (in my opinion) in the heart of Williams AZ, on historic Rte 66. Loved every minuite of my stay in Williams. The motel is as charming as the town itself. Just 1 hr from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Had a good breakfast bar except there was no cereal! Otherwise, perfect! The price was right...within anyone's budget.

We brought my brother in law and his wife to Williams for a short little vacation to the Grand Canyon. After reading several positive reviews about this little motel on Route 66, we decided to go for it! First..the motel is right on the main strip and centrally located. We walked up and down the street, having a wonderful time, as the weather was beautiful..about 75*! Carol checked us in and what a sweetheart she is..extremely helpful and patient..answering all of our questions. The rooms are small...but that is the only negative thing! Extremely clean and very well appointed. Nice Vizio TV...comfortable king size bed..fluffy pillows and towels..just very very nice. Obviously recently remodeled. The four of us played Mexican train in their nice outdoor cabana, with overhead heaters and in front of a nice fireplace..it was GREAT. Thanks Carol, we will be back!

Room Tip: All the rooms looked equally nice! All on one level, with parking directly in front of your room!

The outside is appealing. The western theme look is great. Love the outside areas to sit. The breakfast was more than adequate for us. My kids reaction to the room was "I love it. Look at these beds, this is so nice." When we went to leave, my kids said they wished they could pick up our hotel and take it with us on our long trip. We agree. Very clean. Don't let the name Rodeway Inn keep you away. We found this on trip advisor and trusted the reviews. So on target!
