Super 8 Williams East/Grand Canyon Area
Ranked #8 of 30 Hotels in Williams
Reviewed 17 June 2014 via mobile

This Super 8 is a little more expensive than usual, but I guess that's because of the area. The actual facilities are great, and the scenery is magnificent. It's truly breathtaking to step outside at sunrise. I came in late at night after a long day of travel and the staff was very nice and accommodating.

Thank you very much for your review. Yes, you are correct, it's all about location. The closer you get to a "Natural Wonder of the World" the more expensive prices will be.

Considering the amount of people that come to this area, one could hope that the breakfast area could be laid out a bit different and a bit larger. 2 tables to seat two people and 2 tables to seat 4 just wasn't enough. It was cramped with people reaching from behind, and over head just trying to get a pastry or coffee. There was no counter space in the bath room or even a towel bar, no frig or microwave, no elevator. We had a room with two beds and for some reason there was a rollaway bed shoved in the corner.

We remodeled the breakfast area 2 years ago. We took one of the guest rooms to do this. Sorry that we cannot take any more guest rooms to make it larger for guests to have a quick, free, continental breakfast. We have 3 tables that seat 2 people, 2 tables that seat 4 people, and with the standing bar, 18 people can eat breakfast at once. Some guests like to use the picnic tables set amongst the pine trees outside the breakfast area. Guests are always welcome to take their food to their rooms if they prefer. All of our rooms do not have fridges and microwaves, so if you need them, you should ask in advance. There are 30 motels in Williams and only 1 has an elevator. We are not it. You actually have to get upstairs the old fashioned way here, by walking.

We had a nice lady at check-in, she even suggested a nice place for dinner, the rooms were very clean but the only thing I didn't like was there wasn't an elevator. I didn't ask for a downstairs room when I booked it because most hotels have an elevator. We had to lug our huge suitcases up 2 flights of stairs and down them when we left.

The Free Wifi didn't work at all.

It was nice that it was so close to Grand Canyon's South Entrance and that's the main reason to book this hotel.

Thanks for your review. Yes, if you need a downstairs room, you should always ask in advance. There are 30 motels in this town and only 1 has an elevator. We are not it. We are a 2 story motel, so you had to carry your bags up 1 flight of stairs.

Good value but no stairs or luggage carts. Good choice of basic Continental Breakfast. Good advice from lady at the front desk. To the east side of town. This town as a good nite life and seems to cater to the old route 66 adult crowd. Buy Gas in town not by the interstate over 40 cents different.

Room Tip: Ask for stairs

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. You wrote that we do not have stairs, but I think you might have meant to say that we do not have an elevator. Because we DO have stairs. There are 30 motels in this town, only 1 has an elevator, and we are not it. But we only have 2 floors, so upstairs is only 14 steps away.

Lovely location, good stopover hotel. Room was comfy, quiet. Breakfast was adequate. Disappointed there was no business centre so unable to check on emails/contact from home.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry that we do not have a business center, but we are a small motel and there is simply no room for this.
