This was our first stay here and I would recommend it. We did upgrade to a larger room with a sitting area and I'm glad we did. All encounters with the staff were excellent. They were all friendly and helpful. The grounds were lovely and the history of the hotel was interesting. We were traveling with our dog so we're not allowed in the restaurant of course. My only complaint would be that it's a shame the hotel and restaurant could not work out room service for those traveling with pets. We ordered to go, and the food was very good but, eating a $70.00 meal out of styrofoam with plastic silverware ruined the experience. If traveling with pets I would say, save your money and get to go from the Mexican restaurant down the street. We did the second night and it was good and much cheeper. I expect plastic silverware with Mexican to go! The turquoise room need to get it together.

Room Tip: We had room 125. It had 3 windows so it was light and sunny but train noise made us keep the windows shut at night.

Hotel lobby is magnificient. Hotel rooms are small but nice. This place is a piece of early Arizona history. The restaurant in the lobby, The Turquoise Room, is outstanding. The hotel was designed by the late Mary Colter who also designed famous structures at the Grand Canyon National Park. While you're in Winslow, visit the Hopi Villages and the Meteor Crater. You can buy a ticket at the AmTrak station here and ride the train to California or Chicago...we rode the train to LA and then to San Diego and back to Winslow (an easy weekend trip).

Room Tip: The train tracks are a few feet from the Hotel so get a room on the north side if you're bothered by train noises. But the the train is part of the atmosphere here so don't be afraid to immersse yourself in it.

This was my first visit and would definitely return if I had the opportunity. My daughters and I had a wonderful time wandering through the hotel, playing games in the lobby, and relaxing in the gardens. It is unusual, quirky, interesting, historical, and a gem. I was concerned that we would hear the trains at night, there are quite a lot that pass by, but remarkably we didn't hear any. The room was very comfortable and uniquely decorated.

Lovely charming rooms, bathrooms small but that's due to old building.
Clean room and nice

Main building consisted of museum art gallery and restaurant/bar lots of lovely art work and beautiful gardens. Everything restored beautifully.

Bar and barman was excellent, after two days in Indian reservation the sight and taste of chilled alcohol made it even better!!

The restaurant in the hotel was nothing short of amazing! Service excellent and food sublime. It was the best meal into our three week trip!

Even next to a train line you didn't notice the noise at night.

Room Tip: We had room over sunken garden room111 lovely and quiet.

this was our third visit here. this os the most delightful historic hotel ever and the restaurant is beyond description. one of the most fun things is to take your glass of wine from the bar and watch the trains just lime folks did in the 1930s . two passenger trains still stop here.
wonderful. we will be back!!
