Worth a stop. Easy on/off access of I 8. Takes about an hour to walk around. Free parking, admission only $6.00. The film gives you a good overview of what took place and the history. Nice little museum with inmates stories and things they made. Easy walk around the area. The cell blocks are fascinating. Staff very helpful and friendly. It's a shame that several of the original buildings are no longer there, but still worth a visit.

We only got to see the museum do to the rest of the prison being flooded. The museum and film were intresting with lots of information about the prison, the men and women who served time there and about the gaurds.

Only one of two territorial prisons still accessible in the U. S.; the staff has done an amazing job of making you feel like you have an understanding of what it must have been like to have been imprisoned within these walls and you also get an understanding of the kinds of folks who were imprisoned here; there are short bios of many of those long ago felons.

a great historical trip back in time. Amazing to try and picture yourself living back then, being within those prison walls with outdoor temps in the mid 100's or higher with no air conditioning. Although it has been a few years since we have visited there we may go back in the summer, since we live in Yuma now and get a better idea how it was in the summer months. It also brings it closer to home when you watch old westerns and the dreaded Yuma prison is mentioned.

I love anything historical so I found it fascinating. Visitors to Yuma and even those travelers just passing by on I-8 should make the time to look in on this place.
