Absolutely perfect in every way. Food was fantastic, rooms are very comfortable. Unlike any lodge we have ever stayed. Staying here is like visiting with your best friends. Tina and Moose are wonderful hostesses. Husband had a wonderful time fishing with an excellent guide chosen by Moose. My favorite room has the 2 queen beds since it is kind of off by itself and has a little deck with more privacy. So glad this Inn is only 2 hours away since we plan to return as much as possible.
My wife and I stayed at the White River Inn in Cotter, AR from October 4-6, 2013. Tina and Moose, the B&B owners, had every fine detail covered. My wife and I have three young children at home, and we haven't had a weekend alone together in quite some time. We both commented that we got two weeks worth of relaxation and rest in three short days.
We have stayed at B&B's across the U.S. The attention to detail, passionate customer care, location, accomodations, and the lodge owners combined to make the White River Inn our favorite of all.
Moose and Tina were so accomodating and gracious. We really enjoyed being around them, but they gave us plenty of space when we needed it. They are both very interesting people who really made us feel special and took an interest in making sure that we got what we came there for- a relaxed and stress-free time.
The surroundings are spectacular both in the Lodge itself and where the Lodge is situated on a cliff overlooking the White River and the Ozark Mountains. From the deck of the Lodge we even saw a Bald Eagle catch a fish out of the river!
It does cost a little more to go first class, but the value for what we got was well worth the cost we paid. We will be back, and hopefully soon.
High on a bluff over the White River is this beautiful lodge owned by Moose and Tina Watson. If you want to go on a fishing trip with class dont look any further. We chose the all inclusive 3 day with 2 days fishing. The meals, breakfast and dinner were gourmet and totally delicious. We weren't around for lunch. Dinner was served with wine.The building is so meticulously designed to the finest detail making the most of the spectacular view. Moose is a hunter fisherman and has a lots of taxidermy. Each with its own special story. We would spend hours talking over the meals. They are such fantastic people. After fishing we would sit in a spa looking out on the Ozark mountains. One day my wife and I had a massage which was one of the best I had for $100/hr. This lodge beats the older unimproved fishing resorts around. You will be amazed at the quality of this B&B. It is priced higher but you get what you pay for. We definitely hope to run into Moose and Tina again.
White River Inn is an incredible experience. We had a corporate retreat there and had the perfect combination of work and fun. Great facilities, hosts, food and fishing. We caught over 100 fish, and the guides were instructive, kind and entertaining.
The fishing is superior in the Mountain Home, Cotter area of Arkansas, but the accomidations are marginal at best. Most of the lodges are kind of rustic to say the list and usually full of noisy fishermen.
We found an exception to this in the White River Inn.
Perched high above the White in a beautiful location, the Inn is a glory in itself all wood, and glass, and class.
There is nothing about it that isn't perfect, from the rooms to Tina's wonderful homemade, and I mean homemade breakfasts.
It's a little hard to find, and your GPS will only get you close, but Moose can give you good directions.
The lounge areas are exceedingly comfortable, and the porch overlooking the white defies description. Read what the other folks have said about it, and take it all as gospel.
It is a might expensive, especially for Cotter, but worth every penny if you like the best.
Can't comment on the guide service as we already had a guide we like.
We just spent 4 days at the B & B White River Inn. It was absolutely top notch. Moose and Tina are wonderful hosts and don't miss a thing. The Inn in luxurious and spotless. The food was fantastic, not your typical B & B stuff. My husband and I travel all around staying at B&B's along the way and this by far is the best and favorite. We will definitely be back, and hopefully soon. Don't even hesitate to stay at this Inn. You will NOT regret it.
