Had a very relaxing time at the Donkey Den . Linda was funny and helpful. We went out to dinner with her and met many Expats who where all so helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable .There are many different size rooms to choose from .Loving the cats and dogs was part of the experience .Right on the beach!!!

1) Guest House is Very clean and modern.
2) They have 5-7 cats, 5-7 dogs. Very clean, and adorable. I played with the cats all the time, but if you don't like animals.... Still the place is very clean and pets are very friendly and well behaved. I think bunch of them are "rescued".

This comment has nothing to do with the guest house, it is about the Santa Marianita Beach:

You enjoy the place if you want to:
Surf, tan, or walk on the beach, or do nothing in a very windy place!
no shops or ANY other sort of entertainment.

Hopefully it isn’t cold when you get there coz it IS windy

I'm sorry but the whole beach looks like very fake! There is a stretch of the land and they tried to squeeze in as many guests house, hostels as they can! All you see are hostels, the beach, and 5 restaurants that look EXACTLY alike and sell the EXACT food! If you don't have a car you are trapped! Can't go anywhere! like a deserted island! So all you can do is walk on the beach, get tan (in the wind), and eat the same food!!! You might be able to do that for 2 days max.

All I'm saying is that it is a special place for surfing, but you can do all the other activities in many places without feeling trapped!

We had planned to stay two weeks but ended up three months. Linda has created a perfect paradise on a beautiful beach. The rooms are renovated and in great condition, so a hot shower everyday. In the morning she serves a delicious breakfast and the beach is only five meters away.

Great guesthouse, beautiful location, delicious breakfast and the friendliest dogs and cats! Even for travelers on a budget: we stayed in the dorm for five nights. Days filled with relaxing, swimming, beachwalks, sunsets and wine. Linda, the owner, is very helpfull and kind. All together, this place is a great escape from the town of Manta (or any other town in Ecuador).

Room Tip: Almost every room has seaview, but in all rooms you can fall asleep with the sound of the waves!

What a great little Guest House right on the Beach. After spending a week here it feels as if we have a second family. Linda, her numerous cats and dogs, and the young helpers all come together to provide a relaxing setting.
The view from the well furnished rooms is straight to the ocean, what a wonderful sight to greet you at the beginning and end of the day. Breakfast at the outdoor kitchen, a walk on the beach and then relax in the hammocks and swing chairs.
Nothing is too much trouble for Linda, making life relaxing and trouble free. We leave here with many new friends and fond memories, we will be back again soon. Highly recommended, but if you are not a pet lover it may not be the place for you.
