Our stay could not have been nicer. The hotel overlooks the lake and has one of the most incredible views anywhere in the world. Think sun, volcanos, and water. The hotel is secluded but we found that to be a positive. The restaurant was wonderful so we ended up having our dinners there. At night, the hotel lights up in candles.
During the day, we hired a boat and guide to take us around the many Mayan villages surrounding the lake. Amazing that each town (some only accessible via boat) has its own unique culture. Definitely try Solola where I think 2x a week they have a local market (non-toursity). We stayed only 2 days but wished we had 1 more to hike on of the volcanos.More
