Stayed from 2nd Feb till 9th,I had read some reviews and was a bit dubious, but only one was right ,the reception staff where quite ignorant but u only see them at start and end.The rooms where clean and basic but right beside entrance to slopes ,people have to remember this is a ski resort not the Ritz so a bit of noise is expected but we didn't here anything to keep us awake and were in our fortys, the only thing annoyed me was the room deposit,it's €200 cash ,they won't take a card so I'm back with 200 euros ,but overall we would stay there again and there was eight of us .

Five 30-something lads on a ski trip. Accommodation was fine, plenty blankets, coffee machine, microwave, bottle opener, all you would need on a ski trip. Excellently located for the slopes, straight out the door to the lift to the top of the mountain. However receptionist is a useless arrogant woman and internet of non existent in the rooms if your depending on it. However plenty small restaurants next door that have perfect internet for the price of a drink. Obviously for the price it can be very loud with drunk young people at night.

The 2Star accommodation was not a problem. It was clean and functional. The problem is that Thomson/Crystal seem to be the only operator that deems it suitable to put couples and families here. The other operators from France and Spain seem to place the younger teenage crowd here. The end result is raucous drunken behaviour and noisy antics all night every night. The staff seem reluctant to ask people to 'calm it down', there is a security guard but he doesn't pro-actively patrol throughout the night asking people to be quiet. The problems we experienced included urine in lifts, stairwells and outside our door. Smashed bottles and detritus left in communal corridors. The morning we left there was faeces strewn all down the corridor to the entrance (looked human could have been animal) this meant that guests had to negotiate cases and bags down a stinking scat slalom course. The other negative was that every guest has to provide a €200 deposit subject to a room inspection prior to departure when it is returned, ours was at 5am we were due to leave at 6am. I can understand the teens and youngsters being subject to this as it sounded like they smashed the place up every night but not families and couples.

Location is the only positive point about these apartments. If you want to pick your skis, cross the street and start skiing right away, thats fine. But if you mean to get at least a couple of hours of sound sleep during night time, prepare yourself to take along some sleeping pills. We stayed there for 6 nights and, three of them were complete mayhem, with noisy, shouting drunkards all throughout the night going up and down the building. Avoid at all cost the apartments close to the stairways.

The apartament building is formed by 4 flat towers with 4 or 5 plants and some restaurants and ski rent shops. The entrance of the building is perfectly located 50 mts close to one of the turnstile of the "GrandValira-Pas de la Casa" area, so its location is superb.
The apartament I stay in was conformed by a single room area with a little but new kitchen, bed-sofa, table and 6 chairs and 1 bunk bead and 1 terrace. Available for 4 people. There were a LCD new TV, fridge, microwave-oven and dishwasher. It is a little bit old-fashioned but everithing is perfectly clean and well preserved. In my opinion it is a perfec quality-price combination. The wifi area is located downstairs and no signal is available inside the apartament so it is neccesary to go to the recepcion desk.
The person in charge could be a little bit rude in the beginning but at the end she is efficient and correct.
Ski lockers are available and free.
Small and narrow (but enough) parking is available with a cost of 10 euros/day.

Room Tip: I suppose all the apartaments are quite similar but in any case, those with the balcony in front of...

I stayed here with a group of nine other people in Jan/Feb 12. On arrival, the staff were very pleasant and allowed us to check in 2 hours before our allocated time, although the 200euro deposit seemed a bit steep considering it was only 2 star accomodation. The rooms were as expected, small but had everything you needed. Could certainly do with being updated in the not too distant future but overall, it would be hard to fault too much. The location is very good in terms of access to the slopes.

Throughout the duration, the staff at reception remained fairly friendly and helpful when asked anything. The one issue I had was with the lack of cleaning staff visible. I never saw a maid from we arrived until we departed. The very least I would have expected would have been a fresh towel every other day and some basics like toilet roll and a drying cloth. I dont expect people to clean up after me but I think that a fresh towel isnt too much to ask. The only other issue with this accomodation is the noise. The building itself is dated and this means we could hear virtually everything from 2 floors below/above and all of the rooms adjacent.

My advice would be to spend slightly more and book into Snowflake or Olympiades.

I stayed at Frontera Blanca in Jan 12 and was pleasantly surprised at the standard considering it's 2*. Myself, my Wife and another couple shared a four birth. It was clean, basic but more than adequate for a boarding trip. Plenty of hot water, towels etc. I reported some bulbs that weren't working and a faulty pull out bed. These were fixed immediately. The apartments are literally less than 20 meters away from the piste. The location is perfect for shops, pubs and eateries etc. we found a pub with happy hour 16-1800 doing 2 pints and French fries for €3.50. Tasty! Take your own tea towels if you plan to eat in etc, as we did every other night. Dishwasher is a bonus. You have to pay the €200 deposit cash, so if you are on a budget factor that in. I will stay there again next year without a doubt. Enjoy people. xxx
