“Surprising find in NW Arkansas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 December 2013

Eureka Springs is a surprisingly funky, fun art colony located in the Ozark Mountains in NW Arkansas. It's about an hour and 15 minute drive from the NW Arkansas (Fayetteville) regional airport.

The town is arranged on the side of the hills around the spring basins, so roads wind around the town and give it a lot of charm. The architecture is cool - stone and Victorian predominately - and the shops are fun to visit if you're looking for unique pieces or jewelry, art, and the like. There are some interesting options for accommodations, ranging from B&Bs to 1880s-era hotels, and there is plenty to do while there, including some interesting tours (underground, ghost, etc.), spas, and zip lines. The nearby Thorn Crown Chapel and Christ of the Ozarks/Passion Play are worth seeing as well.

If you're going to spend time in Arkansas, this is the place to go.

It is unbelievable that a place like this exisits. Leave your cell phone and computer at home and don't turn on the tv in your hotel room. Go out into this town and area and soak up the natural beauty and spirit that flows from this town. When you pack to leave and go home, make plans and reservations to come back very, very, soon.

This was in a convenient location, and the rate was good...off season though so rates were probably good all over town. Remodeling in the office made checking in hectic. Room was on ground level even though it was the third floor. Room was clean except for the microwave which hadn't been cleaned in awhile. I checked on the continental breakfast and was told it would be setup in the morning in the room adjoining the front office. At 7:30am when I went up to get some coffee and ice, everything was locked up...no sign of life anywhere. The cable channel listing in the room was out of date also. Cox Cable changed that many months ago.
The bed and pillows were comfortable and it was quiet. With all the good places to stay in Eureka we probably won't stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor, in a smoking room, and the room was quiet. It was also at ground level...

The room was clean and spacious and the staff was friendly, but the "amenities" were minimum or less. Wifi did not work during a two-day visit. There was only one shampoo and one coffee in the room. The breakfast variety was lacking. One note: Some rooms require walking down one or two flights of exterior stairs.

I guess it's a place to lay your head if that's all you need. The beds were pretty hard and they advertise a free breakfast but they are remodeling the lobby and we were told they weren't providing it at this time, we'll then they should change their advertisements and website or at least offer some kind of compensation when you show up expecting it. That was one of the reasons we booked this motel. We won't stay again.

Nice rooms with excellent views of the woods, very very clean, had all the basic amenities like Microwave, refrigerator, iron etc. The only 2 drawbacks this hotel has are A) The pool wasn't clean and was virtually non usable.B) The breakfast is very limited or I would rather put it as not being there. Other than that the facility looked in good shape and would definitely stay here the next time I am in the Area.

Not the most up to date hotel but for the money, the best stay in Eureka Springs. Hotel room was clean and staff was friendly and willing to help when needed. Parking lot was kind of small and due to location can be difficult to pull out of but otherwise no other issues. Will stay again for sure.
