We had a late lunch recently at Bubba's, having had it recommended so many times but always finding it too crowded to stop. Not this time; we were seated right away in the original, small portion of the restaurant.
I ordered a combination platter, offering a small rack of ribs, pulled pork, brisket, beans, and slaw. The ribs were very smoky, and so tender; I couldn't detect any rub of flavoring that might have been applied. I expected sliced brisket, but it was served "pulled" or chopped, very lean, not too smoky. The pulled pork was also nicely done, again just fairly a plain preparation. I was served just one sauce, a red, pretty-sweet concoction with just a bit of tang. Raised on KC barbeque, I like a little more spice and flavors, so all in all, my meal seemed a little bland to me. Tasty...but simple flavors.
