We stopped by on a summer weekday around 1pm without reservations. The restaurant was busy, and the hostess was obviously frazzled. She told us it would be about 10 minutes but it turned out to be around a half hour. Once we were seated on the lovely patio, everything turned out fine. The food was very good, we had fish tacos, sandwiches and burgers and the drinks delicious. Our waitress was friendly and funny and recommended the white wine sangria, calling it "Happy Juice"...and it was. I would definitely recommend Local Flavor Cafe, just be prepared for a wait.

Went on recommendation of TA & our kids for dinner. The wait was as advertised by seating hostess - long. We were welcome to have a drink at the bar - humorous - the bar was 3 deep with people waiting on tables; no way to get a drink. Waiting area is either poorly ventilated or has no A/C. We finally went and sat at a table that was going unused, as many were - "help wanted"!

Once seated, the experience improved dramatically with a pleasant waitress dripping in tension. Wine arrived promptly but warm, not great for a Pinot Grigio. House salads with entrees were right sized, fresh and very good. Warm sourdough bread was delivered and very tasty.

Entrees included the Mahi Mahi with a mango salsa with a bit of a kick and the pan seared tilapia with roasted red pepper cream sauce. Both dishes had rice and black beans. Both were equally good but the nod goes to the tilapia due to the sauce over the Mahi Mahi which was grilled too long and a bit dry and tough. However the mango salsa was awesome and covered it well.

We didn't try a dessert as the entree quantities were ample and we were full. Total bill before tax & tip was $66.

I can see why it gets rave reviews when it's hitting on all cylinders. Just had to rate it as average based on this one experience. The food quality couldn't overcome the other shortfalls. We'll probably try again but we'll be sure to call and make reservations. That part's on us, not them.

Of course you expect restaurants to be busy in the summer at lunch time. However, it was after 1:30 and they were still busy. We would have had to wait to sit outside--so, we chose indoors. By the time we were leaving they were seating people outside as they arrived. Lots of choices even for me--the vegetarian. There were as many vegi sandwiches (8) on the menu as burger choices. Seasoned Steak Fries and Mixed Greens Salads are why I say it is one of the best. They serve grilled chicken on the kids menu and it was amazing! We have two boys and ended up taking one serving worth in a to-go container (aluminum pan with plastic lid)! Fun old-time lamps serve as decorations on the ledge around the main dining room. I wish we had one of these near home. It would be my favorite.

We came here with out kids for a day trip. The food was fabulous and not outrageously priced for the quality. Husband got the prime rib which was tender and flavorful. I had the fish tacos with cilantro lime sauce which even my kids liked. And did I mention the baked brie? Wow. We had high hopes of getting dessert but the portions were filling. This is a must for a great meal when visiting Eureka Springs.

We arrived late in the evening and they were willing to seat us on the romantic patio. Our meals were fabulous and fresh. Lucky to be local.
