“Decent stay”
Reviewed 11 July 2010

My husband and I visited Eureka for the July 4th weekend and decided (after MUCH research) that we'd stay at Swiss Village Inn. Our reservations were for Saturday and Sunday but on short notice we decided that we'd try to go on Friday night so I called and the "older" man said no problem so we got our extra night (at the internet price we got the other two nights for). That's my thumbs up. My thumbs down. Website says it has a heated pool. No, I think the pool was about 65 degrees! It was freezing and so cold that we couldn't even stay in. Most hotels now days have a fridge and microwave in them, ours did not. We opted for the King Jacuzzi suite. The jacuzzi was pretty much ok but with the low water pressure it took about 40 minutes to fill it up. The sign said free wifi but would not connect on my IPhone. Another thumbs up to the maid service. The room was well cleaned when we arrived and when we returned from our Saturday and Sunday excursions, it was once again, cleaned spic and span. All in all, for the money I think we'll stay there again but we won't splurge on the jacuzzi and hopefully the "regular" rooms have a fridge and microwave.

The motel is fine, but the guy who works there should get into another line of work. In addition to being rude to us at every opportunity, he came around on the morning we were leaving, banging on our doors well before check-out time to get us out of the rooms. We were happy to oblige.

We had a lovely stay here and enjoied the double hot-tub/jacuzzi which was located in our room. It has nice commodities as well as a nice continental breakfast in the morning. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I would definitely recommend it to those who want something nice for not too much money.

If you are looking for a budget hotel in Eureka Springs, you could not do better than the Swiss Village Inn. The location is very close to the historic loop, as well as businesses and restaurants; our price included a two-person spa tub, which was immaculately clean; and the manager was friendly and solicitous. Rooms also include a microwave and small refrigerator, and it was obvious that the housekeeper (Shellie) was meticulous and conscientious in her work. All in all, a very enjoyable stay--we will be back!

We had four couples with us that stayed here for the Passion Play. We were in 101 which was very clean with a king (very comfortable) with a jacuzzi and nice TV. Bob, the owner, was ver accomadating and a culinary chef as well. Every restaurant he recommended was just as good as he said it was. His assistants, Gerald, Lance, etc., were as nice and friendly as you could ever expect. Overall, it was a great vaue. Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired but we saved enough money every day to pay for a great breakfast at any restaurant ... far better tan any other hotel would have offered for a room that would have cost $30 - $60 more per night. It isn't a Holiday Inn but it is far better than Motel 6.

We arrived at 3p.m. the stated check in time and waited until 3:40p.m. for the room to be clean. The room still was not clean there was hair in the jacuzzi tub and an empty wine bottle on the floor. You could see daylight around the door as well. The sign said micro fridge but they did not have them in the room. When we complained they took our key and gave us keys to another room. That room was worse we could see daylight all the way around the door. The chair was stained and still some crusty stuff on it. The next day when I went to check out the desk worker would not even acknowledge but continued talking to friends until I left.

We chose to stay here because of the price and the reviews saying that it wasn't that bad. For the price we paid for 2 nights ($47 and $32), it served its purpose of a room with a tv, good a/c, and working shower. We weren't sure if it would be quiet because we saw a few signs that said "quiet time 9 p.m. - 7 a.m.," but the fellow inn-mates were quiet. Friendly staff, free wifi, and free continental breakfast were nice. It's a no frills motel, so know that before you get there. We recommend calling ahead to see if they can beat the rate offered from internet travel sites.
