“Very sad ...”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

I was not able to stay overnight as there was a wedding and the rooms where all booked. However I had a look around in all public places. How sad the condition of the building is including the gardens, some major areas either bare or full of weeds. The bar on the upper floor has been turned into a very ordinary black "dungeon" looking pizza joint, not one touch of history left..... After seeing all that I was actually glad that I did not have a reservation.

This hotel is so nostalgic. Truly from the old days. King Bed was soooo comfortable! Staff jumps through hoops to make sure you are happy. Don't miss this place while visiting Eureka Springs!! Ghost tour was interesting. Way up on top of mountain!!

Room Tip: All are good.

I am from Kansas, and decided to host my wedding at The Crescent Hotel on April 27th, 2013. All I can say about the hotel is: FANTASTIC!

Susan Dickson, the wedding coordinator was great. She was available whenever I had questions and worked to ensure our happiness. On the day of, we worked with Gatlin, who is the catering/event manager. His attention to detail and concern for our happiness was outstanding.

If was raining on that Saturday and he was willing to make whatever I wanted work. We were supposed to have the ceremony in the Garden, however the rain won that battle. We were then just going to move it inside when Gatlin gave the option to have it on the pergola area. They were able to assemble everything for 100+ people quickly and without fuss.

We did the BBQ option for the reception. We ordered brisket and chicken. I only had the brisket, but it was fabulous! Service was great and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.

We also have Timbo Promotions DJ, Mark Timmons, DJ our event and I can't say enough good things about him and his company! He called and texted in the weeks before the wedding to ensure that all was organized. He took our music list into consideration and then added new songs that fit our idea. It was great. Everyone had a great time and it was all thanks to him!

We stayed in room 218, Michael's room, on Saturday night. It was great! No ghostly activity, unfortunately.

The Sunday brunch was AMAZING! So much to choose from and the food was just delicious.

Room Tip: 218 is supposedly the most haunted room in the hotel!

This is a beautiful old hotel, and it has been updated pretty well. As with any old building there will becreeks and noises, but I would stay at this place again. My sister and I spent the weekend here, and we had a fabulous time. There are a few things you should know before you go. I really wanted to eat at the steak restraunt in the hotel, but both Friday and Saturday night it was closed b/c they had weddings. Also were were givien a room on the 1st floor. It was right next to the conservatory where one of the wedding was held so it was a little noisy. The ghost tour as very interesting. The Sunday brunch was also very good. The upstairs has a small bar/restraunt that has a very nice view and pretty good pizza. The service was also very good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the ball rooms and on a higher room. You could also ask for one of the hau...

Thank you for reviewing your experience at the 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa. We apologize for any inconvenience you encountered due to noise or 1886 Steak House closure during a wedding reception. During certain times the dining room is booked in advance for wedding parties, as was probably the case during your visit. We are delighted that you enjoyed the rest of your stay and invite you to come see us again soon.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel and I never would have stayed here if it were not for livingsocial.com. The ghost tour was great and the property was wonderful as well. This is a great historic hotel with great employees who provide great customer service. We had a slight problem with a couple of things, and they refunded our resort fees for the two days we stayed there. I couldn't have asked for better from the staff. The breakfast and the crystal dining room were great as well. I would go back.

My wife and I booked a romantic May getaway for our anniversary. May is the month of the arts festival and there was going to be a parade on saturday. We arrived on Thursday and so did the snow. A freak May snowstorm made the trip a bit dreary but the hotel was really great we had a unique room with an amazing veiw. We had a great time on the ghost tour (the ticket cost extra). You don't stay in the 1886 Crescent Hotel and expect a modern enviroment. That would defeat much of the purpose, however the heating and cooling and plumbing could use some upgrades. There were no problems just not real conveinant. There are not a lot of hotels in the world that can offer what the Crescent does and they do it well.

We appreciate that you took time to review your experience at the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the historic property and that it made the surprising snowy weather a more enjoyable experience. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the historic air and plumbing systems, but much of the older system has been maintained for historic preservation purposes. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit.

Weekend getaway with old friends....had a great time. Friendly staff, relaxing environment....and we loved the town too. Easy hiking trails close by. We were not brave enough to take the ghost tour. We will be back.
