Loved the charm of the Victorian decor at Chantilly. Really liked the closed in porch area. Definitely a step back in time in Eureka Springs. Walking distance to town. So peaceful and relaxing. Would recommend it to anyone. We had a wonderful time.

Thank you for the lovely review! We strive to offer a relaxing stay for all our guests. We are excited to hear that you enjoyed the Victorian decor, we feel that this is indicative of our Victorian village. The screened in back porches are peaceful and quiet. Thank you for recommending us. We hope to see you and your family back for a visit in the near future.

My friend called Chantilly Lace, to inquire of their availability of lodging, August 1-4, 2013. She was told availability for accommodations, in Eureka Springs, was very limited, as booking was full. None the less, she was able to book us for 3 days {Aug. 1-4, 2013}. Right from the start, it was just Not so accommodating. We arrived at 3pm, check in time, & made 2 or 3 calls to the number for Chantilly Lace...as there was no key, or anyone to let us in. We sat for 1 hour, on the porch, in high heat & very high humidity, until someone arrived to let us enter. I love Victorian vintage era, & this was very much decorated as such. But decorated items, were in very bad deterioration. The toilet would not flush correctly,{coming to the top rim}, unless you waited, & flushed a second time. The bathroom floor was in very bad need of cleaning,{ which I was prepared to do}, but could not lift the furniture off the rug. the rug would fold over, but was so very dirty underneath, I just folded it back .I love Eureka Springs, but would look for other accommodations, before staying at Chantilly Lace again. Also, Eureka Springs was not that booked...we saw plenty of vacancy signs, the entire time we were there. The best thing about Chantilly Lace, was the screened in back porch. I would advise others going & staying at Eureka Springs, to do some calling around, checking availability, & not jump on the 'everything's booked' comment. Something not quite right about the absolute 'no refund policy', even if you don't stay there. Customer service needs work, ...especially leaving the customers outside on the porch, for an hour.

We are quite surprised about this unsatisfactory review, particularly since we talked to the guest that booked the suite during the course of her stay and prior to arrival. We regret that the reviewer did not share their concerns fully at the time of their stay to allow us an opportunity to handle their concerns so their stay would have been more enjoyable and prevent an unsatisfactory stay.
We strive for a level of customer satisfaction that provides a relaxing enjoyable experience. Our rooms are very clean and furnished to fit the Victorian era with comfort.
However, it is the reviewer’s perception this is what counts and we appreciate the opportunity to now respond.
I do not know if they shopped around for other lodgings or not prior to booking with our Inn. When this guest arrived, they thought they booked a different suite then what they did. I did try to move them, but due to already other bookings was unable.
**Accommodations: This reservation was booked online, I did not talk to the guest until after the reservation was made.
Our inn had limited accommodations. Since this is second hand information, I am not sure if the friend received the information correctly. When the guest booked the suite, we did have other bookings.
**Toilet: We have not had issues with the toilet except from this review.
**Bathroom Floor: Since we were not notified, we could not verify. However, we did address this with our housekeeper to ensure this will not be an issue in the future as well.
**Refund Policy: This guest booked on line so they would have agreed and aware of it. In addition, it is reiterated on her confirmation letter. This is stated on our website and if booking online must be agreed to in order to book the reservation.
“We are a small, privately-owned business and due to our small size, cancellations impact us significantly. A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of filling your suite. For this reason we uphold a strict policy.”
• Reservations must be cancelled 14 days prior to the arrival date for a refund (minus $25.00 processing fee). If cancellation is made less than 14 days before your reservation date you will forfeit the full payment. A $25 booking fee will be deducted from your deposit for all cancellations.
• No refunds are available for early departures or no shows.
We have a policy that is pretty standard with the rest of the lodgings in our area. The reviewer can check this simply by going to other lodgings websites and comparing policies.
In conclusion, it is disappointing after a few conversations with the customer that this was not mentioned. We are more than willing to work with guests who communicate to us so we have the opportunity to correct the issues then those who say nothing except to post a “gotcha” review.

We were going to Eureka Springs for the first time and saw this online with nice photos. When we arrived, the porch needed repairs, the rooms were dusty, and you went downhill from the front door to the bathroom in the back. The bathtub looked dirty and you had to use a stepstool just to get in it. If you haven't been to Eureka Springs the roads are steep and narrow in case you have a large vehicle. We reported that the room wasn't going to work but rec'd no credit, even partial. Our advice - definitely check it out before you pay. There are better accomodations. We didn't even stay in Eureka Spgs and won't return!

We are disappointed that the guest did not like Eureka Springs or Chantilly Lace Inn. The city and the inn offer a unique adventure in a Victorian era that is only possible by exploring Eureka Springs. We always appreciate constructive criticism that we can control, and we have made changes based on guest suggestions. Our guests are what makes Chantilly Lace Inn successful. We know how word of mouth and reviews on the internet will affect our business so we take each comment to heart.
What the guest wrote, and what was actually relayed via email to us are not the same. It is a disadvantage to business owners that Trip Advisor allows these scores to affect our business rating when there is deceit by omission.
This was a one night booking from guests that were on their way into Eureka looking for lodging. We talked to the guests – received their information from them, communicated the check in process, and suggested they call if they get into Eureka and could not easily locate the Inn. We are barely 5 minutes away so if they needed anything at all, just give us call. We also ask our guests and it is in our welcome letter located in each suite, to please call if there are any issues or the guests need anything extra.
This guest never called us. Instead, the guest sent an email. Unfortunately, this email was not seen until early the next morning. Unfortunately, I am not in front of my PC all the time, which is why I request a phone call. By not calling, and not relaying to us what they stated in this review, we were not given the opportunity to address or validate the complaints issued. We were also not able to rebook the suite because we did not know that they left until the next morning. As most lodgings, early check outs are non-refundable.
Many of the homes including ours were built in the 1880’s to present. We advertise that our house is circa 1800’s. Eureka is built in the Ozark Mountains. Because of this, many of these homes have a charm of their own and the old architecture to be appreciated. There are some narrow winding roads which can be challenging at times. But most find this an adventure. I understand this is not for everyone, and should be taken into account before you visit.
Chantilly is a fabulous accommodation with many new and repeat visitors. We are disappointed that this guest did not give us a chance to address their concerns other than the brief email which is different then what was posted here.
However, here are our comments to the concerns issued for this review:
1. “We were going to Eureka Springs for the first time and saw this online with nice photos.” I am glad the website was pleasing. Our photos are very indicative of our Inn. In fact, since the photos, we have had new carpet laid in two of our three suites and have added appliances in one of our suites.
2. “The porch needed repairs” – it is an old house built in the late 1880’s and on the side of a mountain. The porch does not line up with sidewalk but it is not in need of any repairs. Our house is well maintained, it is inspected by the city fire marshal as well. If the guest did see something, they were not specific. This is the first time someone ever complained.
3. “The rooms were dusty” - When we went to the Inn the next day, we did not see any dust.
4. “You went downhill from the front door to the bathroom in the back.” – This is an old home built in the late 1800’s - not a new hotel/motel. This adds to part of the ambiance in Eureka that many of our repeats find charming. I might also add the bedroom in this suite has a new carpet.
5. “The bathtub looked dirty” – the tub was not dirty. It is beige, so maybe this is what they saw?
6. “and you had to use a stepstool just to get in it” . – This is an issue? This is a proactive safety measure. This is a Jacuzzi tub and is deep. The step stool is for anyone not comfortable just stepping in the tub, but wanting extra help. It is a safety factor.
7. Eureka Springs the roads are steep and narrow in case you have a large vehicle. – I am not sure why this would affect our Inn but I do not think the guests properly researched Eureka Springs. This is exactly what brings many to our city. We found this to be a contradiction.
8. “We reported that the room wasn't going to work but rec'd no credit, even partial.” – Had the guest called us, and not sent an email or follow up with us to give us the opportunity to resolve it, we would have worked with them. It appears that Eureka Springs was not a destination for them from the moment they drove in.
9. “Our advice - definitely check it out before you pay. There are better accommodations. We didn't even stay in Eureka Spgs and won't return" – The guest did not even stay in Eureka to be able to make this claim to compare.
We can only hope others that read this will keep an open mind.

Thank you Susane for a wonderful stay at Chantilly Lace Inn!

The accommodations were very comfortable and pleasant. We enjoyed our mornings by having coffee and watching the woodland creatures and birds from the screened in back porch. The Innkeeper takes great pride in their property. They go the extra mile make you feel welcome and insure you have a pleasant, quiet, relaxed and peaceful stay. The downtown shop are only a short walking distance from the Inn. We’ve stayed at many places in Eureka Springs over the years and defiantly have found a place we will return to over and over again.

Room Tip: Micah's Somewhere in Time suite. Large room with a Jacuzzi tub with a view of the woodlands.

Thanks to Susanne and Mike for accommodating us on such short notice! We absolutely loved Micah's Somewhere in Time Suite. The screened in porch was so private and peaceful, I felt like I was in a secluded tree house! Everything was great!
Thanks again, we'll be back :)

We stayed here in May of 2011 for our anniversary trip. I just have to say that it is such a great and cozy little place. The theme of our suite fit it for sure!! It had everthing we needed, and was a romantic little getaway for just the two of us. We will definately be back!!!!

I stayed at Chantilly Lace Inn for my wedding suites last month. I took my four bridesmaids Friday night and we had a great time there. All my bridesmaids were surprised to see how pretty the Inn is. The Inn is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect place for me to get ready for my wedding day. After the wedding, me and my hubby stayed an extra night there and we couldn't ask for a better place for the night after wedding. Chantilly Lace Inn also planned my whole wedding, it was beautiful and memorable and we couldn't have that without Susane's help! Thank you so much!!!

This guest was getting married so the details were imperative that her day was perfect. We had the bridal party the night before, and the bride & groom in our Micah's Somewhere in Time the night of their wedding. It is always easy when you have such kind wonderful guests such as Yoyo and Phillip. Thank you for your business!
