“Warm and Cosy in the Mountains of Greece”
Reviewed 8 March 2013

Greece is not known for its skiing, but has some of the best kept secrets if you are looking for some great and unexpected places to go on your next skiing holiday. Kalavrita is just one of those well kept secrets, a fabulous mountain village with a real oldy worldy feel, stunning shops selling local produce and mountain honey, great resturants and coffee shops along the main street a place that will not disappoint you and for a place to stay then the top of the tops is the Kalavrita Canyon Hotal and Spa, a small and really lovely hotel that offers you true comfort and style.
From the first moment you walk in its a real home from home, pleasently greeted and looked after at checking to finding your spacious rooms with beds you sink into, stunning bathrooms and make sure you check into one of the rooms that has its own log fire, this is true style..
The General Manger Demitri, is constantly checking that your stay and comfort are being attended to.
You are only a short trip from the ski centre and you are always able to get a snow update from reception every morning, WIFI throught the hotel ensures all your smart technology functions as it should.
If you are looking for a perfect getaway then the Kalavrita Canyon is that perfect place.

Room Tip: Room 209 perfect postion overlooking the garden, spacious and with the fireplavce in just the right...

The company I work for, organized a 3 days conference at Kalavritacanyon Hotel. I wouldn't be able to comment on the value for money cause I didn't have to pay, but the room was perfect, especially the bed which had a perfect mattress. It was spacious and perfectly clean! Breakfast was excellent with lots of local products. Amenities were natural products. Overall, I would gladly stay there again!

My young son and me went for a chillout weekend in the mountains of Peloponnisos. The hotel is modernly decorated and at first glance it seems too much for this region. But the rooms were comfy, there was a nice view from the east side of the hotel and a free WiFi everywhere. Breakfast was agreeable but nothing much for this hotel's standards. th epersonnel was helpful and discrete. Unfortunately , there was no apa open. (waiting for the snow, I suppose;....)I would recommend this hotel becuse it seems by far the best I have been in this region.

Room Tip: rooms to the east generally have a more nice view.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the Kalavrita Canyon Hotel & Spa. The hotel and town were relatively quiet as we went off season but we can recommend visiting during this period. The hotel is not what you would necessarily expect in the mountains and we thought it might be rustic but not in the least. Our room was very big (a suite but inexpensive as this was off season), the breakfast had a good variety and the service was impeccable. One concern is that we could (at one point) hear the neighbours next door. When we mentioned this to the hotel staff (they asked how we were) they apologised and told us to let them know if it remained an issue (it wasn't and they asked us a few times thereafter to check we were still happy). We'd love to go back to Kalavrita and certainly wouldn't stay anywhere else while there.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We had a superior room, which was very celan, spacious and nicely decorated. The public areas are nicely decorated, yet a bit more modern than one would expect from a hotel in a rather small village. I am not sure it fits the environment so well.
Parking is available free of charge, which might be useful during the weekends, when the village is rather crowded. Brekafast had the basics.
