“Had its day”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

I think people go to Agia Triada because of the James Bond film, but if you really want to get a feel of what these monasteries are about go to Megalo Meteora. This is probably the hardest to get to and the simplest but like all of them has stunning views - not better than the others though. They are all the same price (3 euros) so I would recommend any of the others first.

“Breathtaking”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

And not just for the views but also the climb. I had to rest a couple of times but I'm not that fit so most wouldn't have a problem with the steps and it is so worth the effort. A beautiful Monastery with unbelievable architecture, stunning views and attended by helpful folk. This whole area just has to be seen to be believed. I can't comment on cost because it was part of our tour but whatever the cost it's worth it.

“Tough climb but worth it!”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

In my opinion the prettiest of the monasteries. Seen in James Bond movie, "For Your Eyes Only". Be prepared to walk a tough incline to get to the monastery then climb about 130 steps. Lots of beautiful pictures.

“Most difficult to reach but the best view”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

This monastery require taking most steps but it is worth it. The panoramic view from top is just amazing. Highly recommend to take the small hiking trek down to the town of kalambaka instead of regular taxi to see wonderful amazing views on the way

“brilliant”
Reviewed 6 February 2014

The way these monasteries have survived through the years is amazing. Perched on the cliff tops they are a sight you have to see for yourselves. If you are travelling from Athens it is well worth it.
