Perfect location, I got a room with the view, and it was amazing!! It is located in Kastraki, the little village near Meteoras, very quiet, nice owners, and lovely cats! All just amazing and me and my boyfriend had a lovely stay in Doupiani House.

No trip though Macedonia Greece would be complete without seeing the monestaries of Meteora! And there is no place to stay in the area that beats the value of Doupiani house! Get a room on the garden side of the house and the rock outcroppings of Meteora will feel like they are right off your balcony! The rooms are very clean, the staff friendly and the environment is magical. There is a taverna about 5 minutes walk from the hotel for evening meals and the breakfast whihc is included is quite suffiecient. I would have preferred eggs other than hard boiled, but this was a minor issue. We loved the stay and have already recommended it to friends who are going in June! We we able to ge to the monestaries of Meteora within 5 minutes drive and do our walking before the crowds and heat were against us. We made memories that willl last a lifetime!!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the "garden" side of the house have the best view.

The owners were very friendly. The hotel was very clean, there was airco in the room. But the location made it excellent! While having breakfast or drinking a beer you had an extraordinairy view on the rocks and monasteries!! We had a great time staying here!

This was a most enjoyable evening with Thanasi and his wife.
The relatively new hotel is well built and designed , with Thanasi's son who was educated in Paris, completing the interior design.
The rooms are large and well appointed.
The rooms are very clean.
All amenities work well except for the shower which might need a tweak.
You can always get a drink, but for lunch and evening meals you will need to visit one of the many local tavernas.
The views are wonderful, and the hotel is positioned very well for a very short trip to the monasteries.
Breakfast was more than adequate, with you owners providing efficient and friendly service .
Hope you enjoy your stay.

Doupiani House boasts the “best panoramic views in Meteora” and they are right about that!! We would recommend this hotel to everyone… the rooms, although modest, are nice and clean and the location is a short walk from Kastraki, in addition to four of the six remaining monasteries. Kastraki is much more scenic and quaint than nearby Kalambaka; we were so glad that we chose to stay in a hotel closer to this village. The owners were friendly and quick to offer suggestions for restaurants, sightseeing, and local highlights. This was also the least expensive of all of the five hotels we booked for our two-week stay in Greece and Turkey. An unforgettable experience – you will not regret booking Doupiani!

Place looks poshi on the pictures.
Well, to put it straight: Someone has tried to build a really "wonderful" hotel - but never got beyond "trying". Rooms are dark boxes with very odd balconies. If you get a room overlooking the back yard, it is vital to use the mosquito nets (a technical challenge!) and you will be faced with all the air-condition machines generating a massive noise.
Breakfast is pathetically poor on really small and instable tables. In fact, the worst breakfast we had during 3 1/2 weeks Greece.
Parking is good.
Place seems to be very popular with Russians, Bulgarians, Romanians etc.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room without the massive air-con noise.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very nice hotel with good facilities, big comfy clean rooms, friendly management and above all amazing views! We had a room on the first floor and loved watching the sunrise and sunset from our balcony.
The hotel is at the end of town but is just 2 mins walk from the restaurants. It has a large parking so is perfect to leave the car behind and explore the monasteries on foot.
One suggestion: can they put screens/curtains in the shower?? The water goes all over the place and it gets really messy.
