Stayed for one night with party of three. 2 rooms with private bathroom. Rooms are small but beautifully decorated. Downside, room aside from kitchen and dining/breakfast area so little privacy and one cannot expect long sleep. Didn't bother us as we had to leave early.
Can recommend dinner, excellent. Started with homemade selection of small starters (smoked lammeat, salmon and pate) followed by grilled lamb, minced meat stew. Lovely desert and coffee to end. Was offered homegrown Brinnevin
Can recommend stay.

I was travelling with a group of eight young people from Landmannalauger. We hit a tremendous storm and all the children and the two teachers were soaked and exhausted by the time we reached Hrifunes Guest house. The wind was howling and there was driving rain when we pulled up to the guesthouse. We were greeted so warmly, the house was toasty and welcoming. Our host immediately put all the wet clothes in the drier and we were shown our extremely comfortable accommodations. She had made a wonderful dinner for all of us and there was even a crackling fire. We no longer cared about the weather! We could tell that the view would have been stunning if the rain had stopped. I was tempted to stay longer. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were well appointed. It was a little spot of heaven in what can be a challenging yet exciting environment.

Room Tip: As there were ten of us, We all stayed in the main house which was perfect for us but I cannot comme...

We stayed for two nights at the Hrifunes Guesthouse and had one of the rooms with a private bathroom, just across the drive front the main house. The room was spotlessly clean and so well decorated we are thinking of changing our own room back home in the same style.

The location is good. It's not like you can walk to the shops but it is a fairly easy drive from Reykjavik and still close to some major attractions. We went to Hofn for lunch and it wasn't too tiring a drive.

The dinners both nights were very nice and we met some really nice people at the communal meals each day. I think Hadda feels a lot of pressure, because of trip advisor, to produce good food but it certainly was some of the best we ate in Iceland.

We would certainly recommend anyone to stay at Hrifunes Guesthouse and hope to be back in the not too distant future.

Arrived in the evening to find a charming farmhouse and welcoming hosts. A communal buffet dinner was ready at eight, if we were hungry, and other refreshments at hand. Rooms were clean and well decorated. Pretty! Bathroom was modern and clean. Would recommend this place for a longer stay. Only poor points were space and old towels. Location was superb, between vik and kirk...dur and near the sub glacial volcano on the south coast.

Stayed 1 night in a room with 1 king bed and bunk bed. Our tourguide booked this place for us. Had an okay stay in the newish room (still smelled new). My complaint is that the curtains did not block light. The entry door was made of glass, and was covered by a thin curtain. Above the door was a glass window left completely uncovered. We ended up hanging a blanket on the door and covering the window with the big book available in the room. The top portion of the bunk bed had no safety railing whatsoever.
Iceland is pretty much beautiful anywhere, and Hrifunes is no exception. Breakfast is the usual delicious spread of bread, coldcuts, cheese, muesli. The living room where breakfast was served was super charming. Had a good stay overall but cannot recommend 100% recommend due to the curtain situation.

I stayed here solo for one night on my way around ring road. This was my first time in Iceland, and first time staying in a Guesthouse/B&B so I wasn't sure what to expect. This place was great. It had an excellent view, the owners were really nice, and food was fantastic- best lamb chops I've ever eaten. It more or less felt like being at home. Definitely recommended if you're looking to relax rather than party!

We stayed here for two nights in May. We were truly surprised at how excellent the food was. The rooms are more than comfortable. Its remote location feels Icelandic. You'll like Hadda. This is a great choice.
