“Perfect stopover on the Golden Circle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is a perfect place to base yourself to see the Golden Circle if you want to take your time and not see everything in one day. On the first day we drove to Geysir and Gulfoss, and on the second day we did the snorkel at Silfra and walked around the Thingvellir National Park, and then visited the Fontana Hot Baths in Laugervatn. Lovely hosts who were so helpful when we had to borrow their phone to change our itinerary. Delicious waffles for breakfast. Very comfortable bedrooms and lovely bathroom.

Room Tip: The room with the view over the gardens is probably the best room.

Having has such a terrible experience at the previous place, we stopped off here for lunch and could not have had a more different experience. The service and reception was fabulous, the wine beer and coffee great. The rye bread and trout salad was absolutely fabulous and all was very inexpensive. I would definitely recommend this rather than the Lindos in the same town.
Many thanks

The B&B has three rooms. All the rooms share 1 bathroom.

The bathroom is large and was spotless. There's an excellent shower and bathtub.

We stayed in the room that has an extra bed. Because of that, the room is a bit on the small size. I imagine that it's not a problem for anyone and those travelling with a group of 3 will appreciate the possibility of staying in one room together. The bed is large and very comfortable. (If I could change one thing, it would be the pillows - they're rather flat and soft all over Iceland, so I guess that's just a matter of (national) taste :) )

Breakfast is served in the space between the Galleri and the rooms. The hosts will make you fresh waffles if you like! There's plenty of choice: cereals, fruit juice, coffee, tea, cucumber/tomatoes, fresh fruit, boiled egg, jams, toast, etc. They also have the local specialty: rye bread.

There's internet access through wifi and it's excellent.

The hosts are very helpful. While we stayed (2 nights), there was an unbelievable amount of snow coming down. Because of this, the road to Thingvellir was closed. (Good advice: check vegagerdin.is before you drive anywhere!) The host contacted the road services by telephone to check for us if the road would be opened soon. (Sadly, no. I guess that means we'll just have to come back sometime!)

The hosts also operate a small coffee shop and shop with locally produced items, such as clothing, pottery, etc. The atmosphere is very cosy and there's a good array of souvenirs to bring home if you are so inclined.

We stayed here at the end of our trip and loved it. The room was super comfortable and clean, and the hosts gracious. They live across the wall, so the guest area is completely separated. I understand the noise carries though and we ended up keeping them up at night as we were determined to see the Northern Lights that night and were driving around and coming in and out of the house. The breakfast was scrumptious. The hotel is also within walking distance of the nice spa (I'd prefer this one to the Blue Lagoon as it is more cozy).

There's only 3 rooms in this small hotel in a stylish and well-built house. Comfortable beds. The owners were kind and generous. They offered good advice on where to visit. Wonderful breakfast even we were the only guests in the hotel. only 3 minutes drive from fontana, the thermal pool. Great values!

We spent two nights here. It was a lovely, lovely place to stay. The owners are very nice and were most helpful in helping us plan more of our trip, including helping us to find a good place to stay on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.. The room was excellent with the only large bed we had while in Iceland. There is a shared bathroom, but we were the only ones staying so there were no issues and even if someone else was staying there, the bathroom was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Breakfast was the standard Icelandic B&B breakfast. I would definitely stay here again, hopefully next time in the summer as there was a nice deck with a couple of chairs and a small table outside our room.

We stayed here for one night on our seven night tour of Iceland. This was the best place we stayed on our trip. The room was beautifully decorated and had a massive bed which was super comfy. We were expecting a shared bathroom as that's the type of accommodation we'd booked, but this was a lot nicer than many places we stayed - it was a proper family bathroom, again beautifully decorated like the bedroom. The owners of the b&b made us an amazing breakfast the next day too which included waffles and really nice coffee. I'd definitely recommend staying here. Make sure you visit the gift shop too - it had some lovely things in it.
