This B&B consists of some purpose-built rooms attached, motel style, to a café/shop in which the breakfast is served, rather than being part of the owner’s house. Breakfast is served from 8.30 – it was very good. There is a good restaurant nearby and a well-known hot spring facility is about 200m away.
Good points. Unlike other reviewers, we had en suite facilities (not frequent in Icelandic B&Bs). We also had our own entrance, with parking immediately outside. The property is very clean, the bathroom is very good with modern fittings and an excellent shower, the bed was huge and very comfortable. A kettle and coffee/tea were provided; lighting was good, with a reasonable ceiling light and 4 lamps.
Bad points. Nothing major, but a number of small niggles that lead me to give 4 stars rather than 5. The bed was very large but the room was not, so the available space felt a little cramped, especially as there was no storage space but there were two awkwardly shaped tables. With suitcases filling much of the remaining floor space, moving around wasn’t comfortable. The bathroom, on the other hand was large, but the sink provided was shallow and tiny.
Overall, a very attractive B&B, but better planning could have improved things significantly.
Would I stay there again? Yes.

Had lunch there while on a Golden Circle tour. We had bread baked in geothermal over (buried in the ground), smoked Arctic Char caught in the adjoining lake and chicken soup. All of it was very tasty. Of course I had to wash it down with a local Icelandic beer which was also very good.

Room Tip: Only stop for food but the rooms and setting appeared to be very nice.

We stayed here for just one night with our toddler and absolutely loved it. So comfortable, wonderful big bathroom, quiet, friendly welcome, terrific breakfast. Would go back and stay again longer, and spend every day at the Fontana spa down the road and out on the little patio of our room.

Room Tip: Of the three rooms, only one gives out on a little patio looking out onto a field and the hills, whi...

We popped in here for lunch after a day at Fantana hot springs (3 minsutes down the road) and loved it. Great traditional Icelandic food, nice people and wonderful, unique gifts by Icelandic artists. Definitely worth the stop.

Stayed here in July 2014. This is a great place, and was easily the best of the B&Bs we used on our 10 day trip. The bed was big and comfy, the room had warm details that made it feel like really high-end hotel. The shared bathroom was gorgeous enough to take photos. The breakfast was great (BEST COFFEE IN ICELAND), and the shop is full of good knickknacks unavailable elsewhere. Highly, highly recommended. Other Icelandic B&Bs take note: This is how you do it right.

Room Tip: The room next to the bathroom has a little patio of its own

This is for sure one of the most special places we have been in Iceland. It has lots of details and the rooms offer all you need. It is warm, cozy and really comfortable.

The breakfast was a blast and as complete as it can get with pancakes and more.

Interesting thing is the shop which is also the guesthouses reception.

We stayed here for two nights. Lovely bedroom although with shared bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with good coffee and waffles freshly cooked. Close to Geysir and Gullfoss. Lakeside is very attractive - raining hard whilst we were there so didn't use the spa.
