This B&B consists of some purpose-built rooms attached, motel style, to a café/shop in which the breakfast is served, rather than being part of the owner’s house. Breakfast is served from 8.30 – it was very good. There is a good restaurant nearby and a well-known hot spring facility is about 200m away.
Good points. Unlike other reviewers, we had en suite facilities (not frequent in Icelandic B&Bs). We also had our own entrance, with parking immediately outside. The property is very clean, the bathroom is very good with modern fittings and an excellent shower, the bed was huge and very comfortable. A kettle and coffee/tea were provided; lighting was good, with a reasonable ceiling light and 4 lamps.
Bad points. Nothing major, but a number of small niggles that lead me to give 4 stars rather than 5. The bed was very large but the room was not, so the available space felt a little cramped, especially as there was no storage space but there were two awkwardly shaped tables. With suitcases filling much of the remaining floor space, moving around wasn’t comfortable. The bathroom, on the other hand was large, but the sink provided was shallow and tiny.
Overall, a very attractive B&B, but better planning could have improved things significantly.
Would I stay there again? Yes.
