“Lovely cottage with amazing view”
Reviewed 18 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Host was lovely and welcoming. The cottage is beautiful and specious.

The only reason I'm not leaving five stars is because of the cleanliness.
Oven, microwave, plates, floor and whole bathroom requires regular professional attention.

I'm sure previous occupants tried their best, but it is a tricky business to rely on tenants to act as professional cleaners.

All the best.

“A lovely cabin with some beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed 29 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice at all! Such a spacious cosy cabin.
The owner has thought of everything you could possibly need or want for your stay. The cabin is in a fantastic location with beautiful views, although I would definitely recommend having a car as getting around one would be extremely difficult. The hot tub was the perfect place to relax after a day of touring the sights of Iceland. The only issue we had was a double-booking meaning we had to find another place to stay on our first night in Iceland. This was also with very little notice (7 days before) although the owner was very apologetic. I would definitely stay here again if returning to Iceland.

“Great cabin let down by poor facility's”
Reviewed 8 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

Cabin itself was ideal large warm but on closer inspection not that clean it shows that it is only cleaned by previous guests rather than professional cleaners upstairs room had a lot of dead flies scattered around floor dust and cobwebs everywhere
I travelled my wife and 2 sons who are 17 and 11 years old so when we booked we're looking for cabins with wifi to keep the 2 gadget hungry boys happy
This cabin states it has wifi but only if you stay in out house as no signal in rest of house can't understand why router is in out house ? Also the satellite tv only has 1 English speaking channel so felt a bit let down by cabin description also hour drive from where you pick keys bedding up from
On the plus side in a great location with some great views but not a lot close by in way of shops restraints etc hot tub is spot on after a day touring nice to relax in but would I stay here again definitely not

Management Response
19 Dec 2016
Dear Garry.
Thank you for your review. We always appreciate feedback since we take pride in offering and maintaining high standard of service.
We are extremely grateful for all the people who clean very thoroughly before their departure. And we of course keep a very close eye that this is done properly between rentals.
We are sorry to hear that you appear to have been let down on this occasion. We as a family run business 45 min from Reykjavik visit the cabin between rentals, when we can, to review and assess the conditions. Always on those occasions we go professionally through the whole house - if necessary.
To get wifi in a summer house on the Golden Circle has been no small feat. We constantly endeavour to use the latest technology available to increase the strength of the signal in this remote setting, for the benefit of our guests.
The great NEWS is we have just increased the coverage of the signal from 85% within the house to 100% with full strength 4G. This was maybe not done in time for your "gadget hungry" boys.
We have never considered 12 minutes drive from Selfoss to be far away from "anything" . People love to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and to soak up and enjoy the beauty of the northern lights and the tranguity of this natural beautiful environment.
We hope you treasure the memory of a great house, fantastic hotpot, spectacular views and great location.
Best regards
Robert

“Very good- charming, clean, comfortable”
Reviewed 14 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Cabin looks beautiful, is warm and comfortable, and surrounded by natural beauty. Only thing to be aware of is that owner left instructions for cleaning of the whole property ready for next guests, which I did not expect (perhaps this is an Icelandinc thing).

“Perfectly situated for golden circle”
Reviewed 14 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

The Log cabin is very spacious and perfectly situated for touring the golden circle. Underfloor heating is amazing and the cabin has all the equipment needed for a self catering break away. Fabulous views from the cabin and the hot pot is a must. With the colder Autumn weather having a drink whilst in the hot pot is perfect as your drink gets colder whilst you relax in the 40 degrees heat of the water. Particularly pleasing with a Icelandic wheat beer. You collect keys from the Northern Lights Inn hotel which is by the Blue Lagoon so it works well to combine key collection or delivery with a visit to the Blue Lagoon spa. Would recommend a trip to Iceland without hesitation and the log cabin is a perfect base as Pingvellir, Gullfoss and Geysir are all within a 45 minute drive. All must sees. Tip on directions as we arrived in the dark after a flight delay and had trouble finding the cabin initially. The keys have a fob with the address on but there are two roads with the same name one after the other. Essentially you take the first road on the right after turning right off the 36 road onto the 351 road.

“Large Log Cabin in a good position to explore the Golden Circle”
Reviewed 12 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Very spacious log cabin with comfortable sofas and large bathroom with washing machine and tumble dryer. There are other properties nearby and the view is ok. (We have probably been spoilt as rented a property in the middle of nowhere with stunning views 7 months before) It is very convenient for touring and the kitchen is supplied with everything you need to cook dinner. The jacuzzi is private and the main bedroom is enormous. The separate ensuite bedroom across the deck would be ideal for a family with married children so they can eat as a family but have their own privacy. The upstairs bedroom is also ideal for teenagers to have their own space.
