We were very lucky to discover Trees and Art. We've never experienced anything like it in our travels around Iceland or the rest of the world. There may be other places that feature artworks made of wood, as well as places that feature mechanical inventions, but we doubt there's any place that integrates them in such beautiful and inspiring ways. It comes out of the genius of the grandfather, who passed on his woodworking creativity to his son. We were guided through the gallery by the grandson, the third generation woodworker, whose stories brought the art we were viewing to life. The machines were as breathtaking as the wood art. It's definitely worth going off the beaten path to visit Trees and Art.
