“A Nice Weekend Break”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

My partner and I stayed at the Bayview hotel on the weekend of 31st Aug. It has some stunning views and the hotel is comfortable, clean and the staff are very courteous and friendly. The room had a wonderful view over the bay and pier and we were so lucky with the weather over the weekend we really got to enjoy the walks around Ballycotton and we used the pool facilities at their sister hotel the Garryvoe and that was a real plus.
It is a lovely place to stay, however I must say that it was the little things that let them down - to be rated as a 4 star hotel to me means you are really spot on with the little things which can make such a difference to your customers. Arriving at 4pm you would expect your room to be ready it wasn't and the kitchen running out of gluten free bread even though they were notified ahead of time that a coeliac was staying! - small things but they do make the difference between 3 & 4 star service.
In summing up I must say we did enjoy our weekend and I would recommend the Bayview for it's friendly staff and beautiful scenery. It's just the little details they need to brush up on.

We had our wedding at the Bayview on the 10th of August. The staff were amazing to deal with: professional and friendly. Every request was accommodated and they made our day so much easier. The food was to die for- We can still taste those massive fillet steaks and that amazing pistachio ice-cream. We are still getting phone calls complimenting the food. Special mention must go to Maria, Rory and Aidan at the bar for making our day so special. We could not recommend this place more.

my husband and i stayed in bayview hotel for one night recently. We were attending a wedding of a relative in nearby Grainstore Ballymaloe. We were very surprised with the standard of this hotel. Front of house staff were extremely courteous and efficient. Room was very clean with large comfortable bed. Breakfast was freshly prepared and was delicious. Tasty freshly made scones. Fab view of bay. Only recommendation we would make is that a serious upgrade is needed on the TVs in bedroom. Would highly recommend this hotel

Friendly, warm and inviting - from the staff to the rooms this little hotel delivers. No glitz, no glamour, just comfortable accommodation. With a stunning view across the bay and out to sea from the bar, restaurant and hotel rooms there is spot for everyone to enjoy the vista and just relax and wind down. Added to that is the tasty menu selection all served with a smile and a chat. Though the Bayview of Ballycotton is more expensive than regular tourist class establishments the service, staff and location live up to the saying of "you pay for what you get"- in this case quality, comfortable accommodation delivered with a smile in a brilliant location. It's been a delight to experience.

Room Tip: Don't expect glitz and glamour, just enjoy warm country hospitality in pleasant surroundings wit...

We had our wedding reception at the Bayview in early July 2013. We (and most of our guests) stayed at the hotel for 3 nights.

Ballycotton is a real haven of tranquillity. The village is so cute and charming, with the colourful fishing boats and amazing views.

We were so happy with the service provided by the Bayview hotel, the food, location and the staff are all excellent. Luckily, we had fantastic weather all weekend and were able to make the most of the terrace and beautiful views.

We organised our wedding from Sydney, and only visited the hotel for the first time a few days before the wedding date, which could have been a disaster. However, Maria at the Bayview was very helpful and the hotel surpassed it's brochure and website. All of the staff were lovely, friendly and went out of their way to make all of our guests feel welcome.

We had a very positive experience and would highly recommend the Bayview for a wedding or just a little holiday.

My wife and I stayed for a weekend break, returning after enjoying a previous weekend. We really enjoyed the location right on the shore, with a small fishing harbour nearby and lovely coastal walks. Our room had fabulous views. We visited Ballymaloe house nearby for dinner one night, which was very convenient and also recommended.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and we did have a couple of problems at the hotel that they worked very responsively and helpfully.
The food is good, although we found the service struggles a little when the dining room was full.

Room Tip: Ask for a view over the bay.
