We chose this hotel to explore the area a bit more... having stayed in Kinsale the night before it wasn't much of a drive to Ballycotton so we could explore Old Midleton, Fota Island and Cobh before stopping for the night. I have to admit I was apprehensive driving down the small roads and couldn't imagine being that far out for the evening as we were accustomed to walking around town.
When we got there -- we knew we hit the jackpot! The sun was shining and they had tables setup out front overlooking the water which was glorious... and where we all agreed to spend our evening.
We literally threw our luggage in the room and all headed down to grab a table and have a pint (or three) while watching the sun go down... and it still stays light out until 10pm and beyond! The harbor had boats, the lighthouse was perched up high beyond that... a windsurfer was rescued by the coast guard. We ordered dinner and relaxed as others joined us on the patio, chatting each other up. In fact, we were out there 4.5 hours... and all had a red glow as we didn't pack suntan lotion!
There are 35(?) rooms and all overlook the water so a view is guaranteed! Rooms are spacious as are bathrooms so please consider this property when you're in the area.More
