We arrived mid evening to get a very nice large room (Queen size double, single bed and two double sofa beds) would have been better if it was a sea view but cant complain. We ate in the restaurant which was ok the mustard mash was the highlight for me. The waitress was especially friendly engaging in conversation with my young son. The free wifi was really good especially having a teenager son. My youngest was eager to see the new adjacent playpark which wasnt ready yet but looks good when it is finished. On reflection room was large, quiet, nice and clean. Staff were welcoming (Guinness was pretty good too) and breakfast was very nice french toast and maple syrup a must. I would stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view, local newsagent to rear of hotel for room snacks.

The staff at the Tara Hotel went above and beyond. The stay was more than pleasant and the location suitable to see the many wonders of Ireland. The food was wonderful and again catered to the special needs of my sister. I have recommended this hotel to my friends and I plan on returning with friends.

My stay was brilliant. A well situated hotel that suits the town. The staff were very friendly and the girls on reception were a real credit to the business. Very polite and would go out of their way to help. Will definately stay again.

On arrival staff so welcoming, shown to lovely clean room with harbour view and balcony which was great. Had breakfast and evening dinner in hotel which was, in our opinion, first class - could not have been improved upon. Meals were roasting hot and the quality again first class. Meal presentation excellent. Waitresses so friendly nothing too much trouble - extra potatoes or vegetables produced so quickly if required with no fuss. My husband and I couldn't speak highly enough of the Tara Hotel and it's staff. We had a lovely leisurely time - we were there to chill out had leisurely walks rather than using the swimming pool etc. We certainly achieved it! We fully intend to go back.

Room Tip: A room overlooking harbour is always worth mentioning it enhances your stay.

Stayed here on all previous trips but this time tried Bay View but had most meals in Tara,

Always enjoyed our stay here but my wife wanted to try.leisure centre in Bay view. Staff very friendly and efficient service, Almost similar prices/ offers in both hotels. Well done to both, it will be difficult to choose next time

Room Tip: Room overlooking the harbour is my choice
