The rooms were well-appointed and spacious, kettle, sachets and accessories were on hand for DIY beverages but not biscuits; the staff were friendly, attentive as well as accommodating (pun intended), especially Shona Murphy; the sea view rooms afforded dry ringside seating for the Regatta, as bedraggled oarspeople battled it out in the harbour. Some spectacular landscapes and cosy eateries required minimal, albeit sometimes gymnastic, rollercoaster driving.
