“Beautiful farmhouse”

Stayed at the old farmhouse over the new year it is absolutely beautiful. Full of old charm yet modern facilities. Given directions from belfast. Directions were spot on better than any sat nav.we arrived later than expected due to work commitments on new years eve and were greeted by lights left on and heating also open fire set ready to light instantly we felt at home. We were also left a welcome pack. Thank you kiera it was very much appreciated. Would not hesitate to recommend the farmhouse as it was absolutely gorgeous and spotless clean. There were six aldults in our group and plenty of room for all of us. Killybegs is 10 min straight drive down the road and is a very friendly small town. Will definitely go back when the days are longer. Dont care about the weather as the place makes up for it in its natural beauty. Thanks again keira for sharing your beautiful farmhouse with us.

“Brilliant stay in this charming cottage”
Reviewed 24 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed for a week with kids aged 5, 4, and 1. Delightful property, had everything we needed for a happy stay. Friendly neighbours were on call to see we had everything we needed (gas was running low) but they never intruded. Front gates meant kids were safe to play around the house and rode bikes on the tarmac, and conversed with the cows over the back fence.

Perfect for a holiday seeing some stunning Donegal, the beaches, and eating out. The house is comfortable, cosy and homely, we had such a great time here and hope to visit again in future - can't recommend this place enough.

“A perfect house in a great location”

My family with two children and our dog along with my grandparents recently stayed for a week in the Old Farmhouse. We have stayed in many self catering houses around the country in recent years and can honestly say that the Old Farmhouse was the best house in terms of location (near to a town and excellent supermarket), facilities and comfort within the house and activities and scenery within the wider area.
Everything in the house was in perfect working order and geared towards comfort and leisure. There is a very welcoming feel in the house and it is obviously a much loved ancestral family home. We found the owners very pleasant to deal with and they even made up an extra very comfortable camp bed for my younger son in our room.
We plan to return again to stay in The Old Farmhouse and would highly recommend it and the general area as a wonderful place to base yourself in to enjoy the beauty and welcome of Donegal.

“Simply charming!”
Reviewed 14 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The Old Farmhouse was perfect for our Easter break. It is cute, cosy and full of charm. It is spotlessly clean, warm and well equipped. The photographs do not do it justice. The owners very kindly left a welcome pack which is always appreciated and also enough fuel for two open fires. Our bed was so comfortable and my daughter said the same about hers. The house is situated about a five minute drive away from the town of killybegs about two mile down a country road. It is quiet but not isolated as there are other homes nearby. It is perfect for pet owners as it is totally fenced in. Donegal town is within easy reach for a days shopping. There are two hotels in killybegs for evening entertainment , one of which also offers pay as you go use of their leisure facilities. For great fish and chips visit Shines takeaway in the town. Fifteen minutes drive will take you to one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to; Fintra Bay. I always look forward to visiting Donegal. This particular area is beautiful and staying at The Old Farmhouse made the stay even more enjoyable.

This a great place to stay.It felt so homely and welcoming that we didn't want to leave. There is everything you need including a small bathroom in the main bedroom. The farmhouse had a great garden, completely fenced in and a 1st floor veranda where you can look over the countryside with a glass of wine in your hand!
The other big plus is the fact that it's pet friendly!
Great place.Will be back!
