Dinner with the family over a beer and some classic fish and chips. I had the pasta (white wine sauce with pesto) which was absolutely delicious! A great spot to watch the sunset.

Visited following a long walk along the beach on a beautiful day. Sat outside with our dog and enjoyed the spectacular view from the front of the building. No waiter service so entered the bar to collect a menu, place order and pay in advance. Picked up our own cutlery etc - a total DIY experience. No problems - think they must have customers who have left without paying. Food arrived quite promptly - but was totally underwhelming. A prawn open and chilli chicken sandwich, 2 soda with lime and a glass of Merlot was almost 30 Euro. The price I don’t dispute as overheads are high but in reality we had no waiter service to speak of so a gratifying lunch would be welcome. There were a few leaves to dress the plate but not feed a hunger, a small ramakin of Doritos and the prawn open - dry wheaten with small frozen prawns in a lack lustre thin Marie Rose sauce. No paprika nor nod to being a seaside restaurant. A wedge of lemon squeezed gave it enough flavour to eat but it was mediocre. The chilli chicken sandwich was bland - so much so we had to ask for more sauce to flavour it. This too was promptly delivered but the lack of personal contact with staff created the impression that outside customers are not valued. Having already paid for lunch no one asked if our meal was OK. Nothing about it would tempt me to travel to it for food if I was not already there. The little interaction we had with staff was pleasant and no complaints there. So disappointing as I was last there 2 years ago and had a similar food experience so will look for an alternative next time. Call for a drink but maybe eat elsewhere.

Food was a disappointment. How do you mess up fish and chips? Come for the view and a beer. Nice bar.

We stayed in the area for 3 nights and dinner at Smugglers Creek on our last night made the stay very memorable. Beautiful setting overlooking the beach and comfortable decor to match the name made us feel at home. Lamb shanks, beef cheeks, mussels and oysters over a bottle of French merlot, what else could you ask for? Dishes were well presented and staff friendly and helpful . Hard to beat.
