“Lovely weekend”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

First visit to Kettles Country House Hotel and I was pleased. Hotel has a lovely setting , room was very clean and in good order , food in the restaurant was also good. Staff were polite and helpful however under pressure on Saturday morning as not enough staff to cater with breckfast serving receptionist had to help with clearing tables .
I was disappointed there was no entertainment , especially Saturday night as this hotel is 3 miles from Swords town centre . I know it is the world cup season but on Saturday night a fella was playing records in one part of the bar while the other half of the bar were unaware . It felt as if the Management were catering for locals and not residents. A two piece band to play on a Saturday night should definitely be considered

Room Tip: we stayed in room 209 and this room was quiet

Myself and my husband stayed here on Saturday night. We got a brilliant deal on living social for €50 for b&b and welcome drink on arrival. When we went to check in it turned out that we had arrived a day early and we weren't booked in until the next night!! The hotel was booked out but the receptionist upgraded is to the bridal suite which was available for a €30 supplement. The suite was amazing and well worth the extra money. We went down for drinks in the snug bar which seemed to be a bar for locals. There were quite a few men in there watching horse racing and placing bets. We got changed and then we went into the lounge for something to eat as the restaurant was booked out (again our fault for going on wrong night). The food was excellent. And the place was full with lots of people eating. There was a dj playing from around 9.30pm. We had a comfortable nights sleep and although breakfast was included we didn't opt for it. All in all we had a lovely time. We will certainly return especially if we get a similar deal. And next time we'll be sure to arrive on the correct day!!!

Overall impression after two day stay was very helpful pleasant staff which is a real bonus and made our stay very enjoyable. Food was fabulous...we had a two night deal for B&B dinner one night with carafe of wine and afternoon tea for €170 ...very good value indeed. Not mad about décor in general bit 70's for my taste but very comfortable bed, great food and staff so no complaint from us ...we will be back.
Thank you to staff of Kettles for an enjoyable break

Myself and my husband just spent a lovely night at your hotel. The room was clean and well presented. We had a couple of drinks in the bar area which was also lovely. We didn't eat in the hotel but next time I think we will as the food looked lovely. The high light of the stsy was the lovely breakfast. The food was so fresh and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. Thanks again.

As with most accommodations in Ireland, the staff were cheerful, helpful, and polite. The food and prices were good and the setting and location were very good - quiet, but only a short commute to the airport or to Dublin by bus or DART. The downside is that the walls are very thin, so even if the couple in the next room is not too loud you can hear them - and if they do get loud (as our neighbors did well into the wee hours) you will not sleep well. Added to that, the cigarette smoke in the non-smoking hallway and drifting in under the door from the adjacent room made for an unpleasant night. Fortunately it was only one night out of three, but it was bad enough that I could not recommend this place for an extended stay.

Room Tip: Probably best to avoid the weekends due to the noise.

Had a great stay at Kettles. Prompt pick up from the airport when I first arrived, and the driver was exceptionally friendly and had great recommendations for the surrounding area, dublin and the hotel's offerings. The room was comfortable and the reception welcoming and efficient. The food was quite good in the restaurant and the hotel has 2 restaurant options, which was quite nice. Easy transfer to the airport upon departure. Overall great hotel.
