Got a lovely surprise of a couple of days away form my children to the Kettles Hotel in Swords. I have never been there before and was looking forward to going.... now looking forward to going back.
If you're only staying for one night, two nights or more you are treated to great hospitality. On the reception desk you have the wonderful Elaine and Brónagh who will do everything in their power and more to help you with your stay, and everything is done with a smile. They make everyone feel special.
On arriving in my room I found with great joy the bath had been drawn, and surrounded with rose petals and candles to finish off the atmosphere. After driving it was the perfect way to unwind. The room itself was spacious, airy and spotless, as was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, we had two great night's sleep (even with the heat).
The food in the bar was, for lack of a better word, unbelievable. We had the fish and homemade chips, the batter on the fish was lovely and not soggy. The tempura prawns we had for a started were divine. No room for desert as meal was filling as well as tasty.
On the second day we enjoyed afternoon tea, would advise if you are having this, have it early enough in the day as it is very substantial and filling, and wants for nothing.
We tried the house special, The Ribs. It is like something from the opening scene of the Fred Flintstone cartoon. If you order this bring your appetite.
Prices for food are quite reasonable and not at all hard on the wallet. The bar-staff also very friendly and will make any cocktail you want. (Believe me, I tried a few)
The grounds were beautiful. If you are having tea/coffee you must take it in the garden in the gazebo, it's peaceful, beautiful and the colours are lovely.
If you have an overnight stay between or before flights, I would highly recommend this hotel. To me this a jewel of a place and I would even go so far as to say I would guarantee that you will thoroughly enjoy your stay and leave relaxed and full.

Room Tip: If there is a wedding on, I would advise having a room on the opposite side of the hotel.

We stopped here on the way back from our holidays having planned a day out in Dublin. Got from a living social deal. The rooms are recently renovated and quite well done. Iron and coffee making facilities add to the luxury of rooms. The bathrooms are particularly good with a good power shower and very spacious area. Only negative to them was no vent to get rid of any condensation.

Good bar area and very good menu for food, if just a wee tad pricey, but the food was decently made and no complaints. Breakfast the next morning was nothing special but adequate enough. The sausages were the cheap nasty variety so avoid.

Staff were courteous and accommodating, which is always a plus. Bit out of the way but a good place to stay if you are flying in and out of the airport

A nice, small sized Hotel which is located a wee bit off the beaten track. It's set in a pretty idyllic location with Horses roaming the surrounding Fields.
Following 2 minor hiccups upon checking into the Room (which were promptly sorted, so I won't even mention them) i treated myself to a light meal & refreshments in the Bar. The food & drink was lovely & the staff throughout the Hotel were very friendly.
Room was clean, functional & spacious & rates here are competitive.

Arrived on 26th June for 2 nights booked in after 9.30pm no food available also no room service sandwiches. Reception helpful on booking in. Room very clean and breakfast very good and served by good staff. Be aware the hotel is out in the country a good way from Dublin, but a bus service runs from outside the hotel (wait at the crossroads no bus stop sign but bus will stop ) the cost E2.65 each way these buses are approx every 4 hours and last bus back from Dublin centre approx 11.15pm. On our last morning I enquired if it was possible for us to stay another night, unfortunately the computers had gone down, the receptionist was horrendously harrased to the point of rudeness, which spoilt a rather pleasant time we had had.
All in all nice hotel but to far away from Dublin so for this reason would not stay again.

Just stayed for a two night short break. And cannot complain
Hotel was very clean an tidy with good food all be it the rooms were quite warm but it was clammy outside. Would recommend to anyone. This was convenient as we went to Kildare shopping village and Dublin City centre so is a good base for a bit of exploring.
