a work in progress in restoration but definitely worth a visit, for history and for an insight into this kind of thing. The kitchen garden is a delight and the house, a fortified Jacobean Manor House if I remember correctly, devastated by fire when drying laundry caught fire, is unusual and being carefully restored - a huge task. The people who work there clearly love the place.
