“Not good value.”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Attended a wedding last weekend. The room an staff for reception were top. But overnight stay was not good. Breakfast was average. Staff under pressure. Had to listen to a row with a customer and the manager while having my breakfast . No scones or yoghurt or croissants for those with a sweet tooth. Staff member just pointed where to go to find my table which was not fully set an had to ask for 2 knives. No napkins. Receptionist was not friendly an no smile or nice goodbye. Bar staff very friendly. Staff for wedding reception were excellent. Pity my overnight stay was such a bad end to a beautiful day.

Dear Lovelylas

I am very dissapointed to hear you did not have a satisfactory stay with us, this is highly unusual and it is not the level of service we strive to provide. Breakfast was indeed busy as unfortunately its human nature to try get a few extra precious minutes in bed at the weekend and therefore all the overnight guests converged on the restaurant at the same time.
We really appreciarte your feedback and we take all your comments seriously. We were aware of the issues on that day and have already implemented extra procedures ie allocating an extra breakfast room at the weekends to facilitate the influx of guests.

We hope that you will stay with us again in the near future and experience our ongoing efforts to satisfy all of our guests needs.

Kind regards
Sharon

Vey disappointed lately with the hotel, feel it's dated, not friendly staff, price of food for what is offered is very expensive. Menu repetitive. Small portions. Had to send chips back 3 times they were burnt sandwich on wrong bread, chips cold and coffee cold by the time a very average sandwich arrived. Toilets dated, going up to this hotel for years but feel in the past 6 months things very poorly run in all areas. Staff seem always under pressure.

My wife and I have just spent three enjoyable nights at the hotel. First impressions were of beautiful and well kept gardens and the pleasant foyer area. Found staff very pleasing, friendly and efficient. The well equipped bedroom was spacious and very clean. Perhaps more draw space would be good however.

Our biggest grip was that the bedroom was not serviced until after 4:30pm. Sadly we came back one day wanting to use the room only to see it had not been serviced.

The food – both in the bar and restaurant - was excellent. The breakfast too was well laid out and the food superb. The bar/restaurant staff we found both friendly and attentive.

Gym is well equipped with attentive staff on duty. The pool area, sauna and steam rooms are very good and clean.
Hotel very well situated for visiting the many places of interest in Co. Kildare.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 1st floor - quieter.

Dear PeterBlackmanLisburn,

Many thanks for your very kind feedback on all aspects of the hotel & staff , and for your kind words about our well kept gardens, we strive to ensure all guests enjoy each part of there stay and the grounds!

We are currently looking into the room not been serviced for you on your return to the hotel with the Head of the Department, However accommodation usually do leave the stay over rooms until the afternoon as they do not like to disturb our Leisure guests to early in the day and take from the relaxation part of their getaway.

If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact me on 045-444128

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the not to distant future ,
Kind Regards
Amanda

first impressions of hotel were lovely, well kept garderns and lovely entrance to hotel. We checked in after 11pm was quick and easy. Our room was spotless and very spacious and the bed was comfortable, the room was set at the right temperature. Had tea and coffee in room and hairdryer. Had buffet breakfast on the Saturday and the sunday and could not find any faults food was enjoyable with plenty of choice from sausages and eggs to fruit and toast. Had a drink in bar on the Saturday night and very expensive I only got a pint of fresh orange and lemonade and cost me over 5 euros, so only stayed for one. Staff were friendly and courteous, only minor problem we had was our key card was only put on for one night so couldn't get back into room but was fixed quickly. Great location. Plenty of parking spaces.

Dear 599chelle,

Many thanks for taking the time to review the hotel for us , I am very glad to hear your first impressions of the hotel and how they were lovely and also the well kept gardens , and lovely entrance to the hotel itself, a lot of hard work goes into them!
I will pass on your kind words to Front Office Manager & Accommodation Manager about your quick and easy check in and the Spacious, spotless & comfortable room.
In relation to the drinks in the bar, Just over €5 for a Lemonade & Orange Juice would be very competitively priced and I can actually say with confidence we would be in par with our competitors in the area , this would be the average price you would pay in any Hotel or Bar in the locality.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the not to distant future,
Kind Regards
Amanda

beautiful location and grounds. hotel little older style , which led to some confusion with finding the way around it, better signage perhaps would help.
breakfast was bit hectic, and some of the food was cold, i think that there was a wedding party staying also so this would explain the hectic part but the cold food for such a high standard hotel is not good. overall good however.

Dear efortune,

Many thanks for your review , I am very glad to hear you found the location & grounds beautiful during your stay with us. The hotel is 43 years in business this year and would be a little older in style than other 'modern' hotels in comparison, however we think it adds character & charm to the hotel, we have recently had a company update our signage throughout the hotel and there is signage displayed on each corridor , along with daily directional signage for any events onsite, I do not think the age of the hotel negatively effects the layout of the hotel.
Unfortunately the breakfast can be quite busy in the mornings as we are all guilty of trying to get a little bit longer in bed! Which does lead to everyone coming down around the same time, as you said the breakfast was quite hectic and I am surprised to hear you found the breakfast to be cold as the kitchen would have constantly been replenishing the Hearty Breakfast Items with the busy surge, We will look into this further with the senior management.

We thank you for your feedback & We look forward to Welcoming you back to the hotel in the not to distant future,
Kind regards
Amanda

I did not stay here just had lunch from the bar menu with some family members, The food we had here was well presented and everyone enjoyed the good tasty food, which was well worth the price paid. the down side to our visit here however was most of the staff...
The bar was not busy at the time and we had our choice of seats. once seated 5 times we were passed by the wait staff without acknowledgement before I went to the bar to ask for some menus. I was told that they would be dropped down to us. When the girl arrived with our menus she threw them onto our table and was gone without a word. We then waited for our order to be taken. Once we were finished eating to save us waiting any longer I went to the bar to pay. I asked for the bill which was slapped down on the counter in front of me and had to then wait for 5 minutes for someone to come back to me to take payment. none of this is good enough, especially when the bar was not busy. the staff need to be better trained in customer service.

Dear AaronEMorris

Thank you for taking the time to make us aware of your experience. As you can see from our previous reviews our bar staff are complimented time and again on their service. Therefore I am shocked and dismayed that you should experience anything less than exceptional. Your feedback is invaluable to us as a training tool however it is always helpful to us to know the day/date so we can look into the matter further. On this note I would very much appreciate it if you would make contact with me on 045 431 666 or email sales@keadeenhotel.ie to discuss your feedback in detail.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards

stayed here for a wedding on the 14th june,14. check in was quick and easy and the receptionist was very frendly, the room was large and airey with a very large bed plenty of wardrobe and storage space, iron and kettle and tv. large windows looking out on to the beutiful gardens.the bathroom had sink, toilet and bath with a shower over it.the food served at the reception was as good if not better than most resturants we have ever been to,it was served hot and quickly and there was no waiting for ages between courses, so well done waiting staff the service could not be faulted, now to my favourite part the bars were well run and no waiting to be served so a big well done to the bar staff, the drink price,s were just a bit more expensive than a pub.but to be expected.the breakfast was lovely and fresh, the only complaint was the toaster was very slow hence people waiting,so if this could be sorted out you would have perfection
we could not fault anything about this hotel, all the staff were very frendly and polite the gardens are beutiful and well kept and there is plenty of parking space.
So you looking for somewhere to stay in newbridge this is the place. we will definitly stay here again, well done

Room Tip: we stayed on the ground floor lovely
