I ate on two separate occasions at this restaurant by recommendation and I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed 3 courses on both nights. The food was cooked from stratch, from fresh local ingredients and was just so tasty and delicious, it was just divine. From the starters to the desserts I could not find one fault, truly lip smacking yumminess. It was possibly the best food I have eaten in the West of Ireland and in Ireland for a long time. Fantastic. The atmosphere was just wonderful, cosy, friendly (strangers chatting to each other about the wonderful food they were tasting), and the bar/ restaurant was filled with happy locals and tourists. The service was prompt and the waitress was happy, helpful and polite as were the bar staff. A little pricey some may say but worth every penny. This is top class Irish food at its best. Would highly recommend this restaurant above any other eating establishment in Newport. A must visit for all. I hope to return again.

Stopped off here after doing a long cycle on the second part of the Greenway. It was a Sunday afternoon so it was not too busy. It was a very windy cold afternoon so we were delighted to see the lovely open fire piled high with briquettes and coal, just the thing to warm the bones. We were seated near the window so we could keep an eye on our expensive bicycles. The food was roasting hot and very tasty. We were so full after the meal we couldn't even have a piece of their delicious desserts but we will the next time. If you are passing through Newport or plan on availing of the greenway cycle path drop in here and you won't be disappointed.
