We stayed in Navan, due to its proximity to Dublin. We had a very early morning flight and could not get accommodation in Dublin, due to the Bank Holiday Weekend. Pat was very welcoming and made afternoon tea and served fresh cake for us. He showed us a folder with all the local restaurants in it, which was very helpful. All restaurants are within walking distance from the B&B, which is very convenient. Our room was well appointed and extremely clean. I would definitely recommend staying here, in fact we felt like we were staying in a friends house.

When we arrived we was greeted by Pauline who showed us our room then made us some hot drinks and offered us cakes and biscuits. She gave us a folder showing us where to eat in the town and also provided us a map of all the historic things to do in the area.We loved the automatic lights that came on when you went in to the house which was very helpful indeed. This was our first visit to Ireland as we was attending a family wedding which was close to the B&B and Pat arranged a taxi to pick us up which saved us time to get ready. The breakfasts where lovely all that you could think off to have before the lovely cooked breakfast. We do plan to go bsck to Ireland and will most certain go back and stay here again. A most enjoyable stay.

We stayed at Athlumney Manor at the beginning of a 24-day trip for 3 days and returned before we left for another stay. Patrick and Pauline went above and beyond to help us get oriented and take care of my ill sister. The family room/suite was spacious and very well appointed. The automatic lights that came on when entering or leaving the room were extremely helpful too. The garden was lovely and there were always fresh flowers in the breakfast room. There was cake and scones to greet us when we arrived. The location was perfect for day trips to attactions like Trim, Newgrange, Kells, and more. Plus we could easily walk to town and have wonderful meals at recommended restaurants and pubs. Best of all it is less than an hour to Dublin airport, so you don't have to deal with Dublin traffic (or extremely high) hotel and parking prices. Of all the hosts of B&Bs we stayed in, I think Patrick had the most hilarious and touching stories. I also really enjoyed the breakfasts. With a selection of fresh tropical fruit, different cereals, granola, in addition to a choice of hot breakfasts (salmon, full Irish, etc.) and they accommodated requests (e.g., more rashers, no sausage, etc.) We plan to return in the spring and our first stop will be Athlumney Manor.

Room Tip: All the rooms are on one floor which is great for people with a lot of luggage or are limited in movement. Even the least expensive room has a lovely view of the flowers in the back yard.

A very typical B&B is a lovely home. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. We were able to easily walk into town to a very good restaurant/pub. Breakfast was quite adequate but not outstanding - nothing wrong just nothing memorable. Very pleasant and helpful hosts. A good place to stay.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend our first two nights in Ireland. Pat made us feel so very welcome, from our first chat when we arrived through our last morning. He and his wife are gracious and accommodating, and the facilities are lovely. The breakfast was delicious!

We chose Athlumney Manor because of its proximity to Newgrange, where we wanted to start our trip. What a serendipitous choice!

If there was a higher rating, we'd definitely award it.
