“The cinderella experience!!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

My family and I stayed here on October 4 and 5 2013. We arrived after dark and had great difficulty finding the place. It is located off the main road in a cul de sac. The sign for the library is the landmark. They have a sign on the house but it was not switched on that night. Road works had also rearranged a sign on the main road showing the wrong direction for B&B. Surprise, surprise!! We were greeted by a polite young man who showed us to our rooms. We were scattered throughout the house. My room was in the attic. It was average in every way. It did have coffee making facilities and a small en suite. The bed, bedding and carpet were well worn and looked dingy. The floor boards squeaked every step i made. The icing on the cake was the sky lite that does not lock closed. Thank God we did not have high wind and rain that night. I also had great difficulty closing the blind on same. Quite a bit of dust fell from that blind. From seeing other rooms it appears that a few hundred euros spent on each would make this place a wonderful guest house. The room used in the advertisement does not represent what I got, by any stretch of the imagination and I was not given a discount for my CINDERELLA suite. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. The owners were very tolerant and accommodating of guests arriving late or early from our wedding venue. My advise is spend a few quid and spruce up the rooms, especially the attic suite. Thanks for the great breakfast.

This was a horror stay from start to finish. On arrival we where shown our rooms and handed a key to room, when asked about key for front door I was informed that it is never locked. Not what you want to hear when your room is the first one when you go in. On inspecting the room it was filthy, rubbish in bin in toilet and all round just dirty. The next morning we were woken up at 8am with people shouting in the house which did not stop till 11am. On leaving we had to wait 20 min to wait for some one to arrive to pay and then we were offered breakfast which after seeing the kitchen I thought the road out side looked cleaner to eat off. Will never be going back nor could I possible recommend.

We stayed in the Failte B&B last weekend as we had a wedding in the Millhouse we stayed two nights and found it great value. Had a late breakfast both mornings with plenty of choices from fruit to juice and every cereal you could think of and then a lovely fry up, Rooms great size very clean with plenty of toiletries even face wipes, cotton wool pads, and cotton buds (things you might forget). Patricia made us feel right at home, if you cant find the B&B turn right / left at garda station depending witch way your traveling or look for the library signpost and you will see the Failte. On the Friday night we went down to Boyles bar and there was a great band playing they were The Pavement Kings a rockabiily band great music great night well done lads. We had dinner in The Bistro fab restaurant lovely staff, everyone we met were so friendly so must say people of Slane are the nicest I have met in a long time. The Millhouse was beautiful with lovely staff great venue for a wedding. When I visit Slane again I will stay at the Failte

We picked to stay at The Failte B&B as it was close to Newgrange and we wanted to get there early. The room was plenty big enough for my wife and me and was clean and airy.
There was plenty of tea and coffee provided and the en-suite had fresh towels and shampoo etc.
Patricia cooked a great Irish breakfast and got us away in plenty of time.
We would definitely book The Failte B&B if visiting anywhere near Slane. One tip though is that the B&B is not exactly on the main road but set back in a small cul-de-sac. There is a brown B&B sign on Main St so it is still easy to find.
