“A WELCOME SIGHT ON A RAINY AFTERNOON”
Reviewed 3 July 2012

Joe was the ultimate host, making sure we knew about the things to do and see in the area, calling ahead for us for admissions, giving directions. When we arrive, he and Olive were planning on going out to play bridge, so our instructions were, "The place is yours until we get back, but, if you go out, slam the front door hard." Breakfast was a delight, the usual Irish, but whatever else you wanted. The location is central to all the historical sites and locations north of Dublin. I'd do it again.

Good property with landscaped garden. The couple is very affable and good on hospitality. A number of historic sites within a 20km radius, including Hill of Tara, Newgrange Monument, Battle of Boyne, Trim Castle and Slane Castle. Also, while you're there, have a meal at the Poet's Rest in Slane village - good food!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the front of the house (East) have better views.

We enjoyed our one night stay. The house is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and our hosts were fantastic. Joe made a reservation for us to see Newgrange and let us use his computer. Breakfast was great and it is in a convenient location to see many of Irleand's historical sights. We are from Phoenix, Arizona so found the room a little chilly - could have used more heat :)

We loved our stay here. The room is comfortable, warm and the owners are super nice, just like staying with family. Would recommend to stay here. You will enjoy the owners.

My room had a jacuzzi or hot tub & I was going to fill it & have a bath & the owner, some cheap, [--] irishman wanted to charge me to have a bath.

Much more expensive than neighbouring B&B's. Do not stay here.

Booked room at last minute and we were really diappointed. There were holes in the walls of the room, no advertised Wi-Fi, and the room was cramped and dirty. Breakfast was good, though. Would not recommend this place.
