“Great birthday lunch”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

Came here after visiting the Boyne Centre to have lunch with my husband. Great service and an enticing menu which did not disappoint. The coffee was superb and the carrot cake so fresh - I would recommend heading on down to the Slane Bakery ( Slane Bake) afterwards as we did to buy more! I bought bread and a birthday cake for my husband which was specially wrapped up for him.
Would be very tempted to stay overnight in this delightful hotel.

After driving around trying to find somewhere to stay for the night we chanced on the Conyngham Arms Hotel. We asked if they had a room available and the very helpful receptionist said they had two but they wee both very hot due to the weather. She showed us both rooms so we could make a choice or decide to go elsewhere. We picked the hotter of the two on the top floor as it was slightly nicer with a four poster bed. But both rooms were nice. Having booked in the receptionist (Ruth) then offered to help us with all our bags and also showed us where the parking was. She could do enough to help us. Great service. Lots of nice touches around the hotel too. Aromatic candles everywhere and nice furniture in the breakfast room. It WAS very hot all night but honestly we can't fault the hotel for this as they're just not set up for this kind of heat in Ireland and we were warned.

Lovely food, staff very friendly. The Guinness was perfect. Sat outside in the garden for lunch...beautiful setting, very relaxing with the sound of the fountain. Heading there for a wedding next Valentines day....looking forward to it

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff are one of the friendliest staff I have ever met, from the second we walked in the door they were so helpful and friendly without being overbearing or intrusive. Our room was gorgeous with a four poster bed and local toiletries that smelled amazing. We were lucky we had great weather and we got to enjoy their fantastic gardens. This hotel is ideal for a quite getaway, and try the baked goods they're fab.

If visiting Dublin or Belfast, an overnight stay in Slane is a must. With Slane Castle, Hill of Slane and NewGrange within several km, The Conyngham is a quaint small town hotel. The hotel is as nice as I saw while in Ireland and the staff is friendly and eager to please. The restaurant is excellent. The hotel location is close to shops and great pubs.

We particularly enjoyed our one night in Slane at the Conghame Arms. For single travelers we were impressed with the spacious queen rooms we each requested, all with a character of its own. Booking from Australia was made easy by efficient friendly staff and check in was a breeze. My third stay in Slane, a good base for visiting interesting landmarks of Irish history and a great night at the Boyles Hotel where the trad/folk live session was grand. The hotel has character and charm, and was perfectly suited to our needs. Thanks for a short but happy stay and excellent value. Kate Katherine and Sally
