We stayed in one of the one-bedroom cottages which had a double bed and four bunk beds. They were extremely comfortable and the cottage was lovely. The staff were very friendly and there was a sand pit for our kids to play in on the greem area as well as a swing set. The location provided a great base for touring the area and visiting neolithic sites.
Onlt thing that was odd was there was no electric. Having said that I never bothered to ask for one. Overall I would recommend.

Thanks for writing this response.

I think you forgot to finish one of the line - we had no electric......I think your missing 'kettle'.

The reason we dont have electric kettles in the cottages because they keep blowing the fuses for some reason. So instead we opted for the kettle on the hob. It does take a couple of minutes longer but tea is always worth the wait.

We hope to see you and your children again in the future!!!

Gemma, Joanne and Family!

We stayed one night in June and had a nice relaxing time. The camp site is small but we had loads of room for our caravan. The site is perfect for camping in a tent because it provides a fully stocked kitchen with all you would need to cook and eat all your meals (cooker, plates, cutlery etc.) It has a small park and a few farm animals, including Jack the friendly donkey :). The site can provide tickets to TAYTO park which is only 20 minutes away. We will be back :)

My sister had her hen weekend in navan and we stayed here. It is in a great location with great facilities. We had no problems and the staff were lovely. We ordered in pizza and ate them out side in a picnic area they have. Very clean and nice atmosphere.

We had a cottage for two nights. Everything we needed was there. The family are very friendly. A perfect location for exploring one of the most historical parts of Ireland. The cottages were an excellent price.

We stayed four nights in May and had a wonderful time even though we didn't have a car. If you're traveling by bus, you can be dropped off and picked up at the Slane "Castle" which is about a 10 minute walk down the road. We got along just fine and took the bus into Trim, which has just enough attractions to keep you busy for a day. On another day we actually went up to the Balmoral Show in Belfast, courtesy of our hostess, Joanne. We also made our way out to Newgrange, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. There are a lot of other attractions in the immediate area, including the Hill of Slane.

Overall, we felt very welcome here and very well served. The cottages are well equipped for those who like making their own meals. It's not a first class facility, but what's important is whether you enjoy yourself, and we certainly did. So here's a big thanks to Joanne and Paddy for making our trip to Ireland so special. We will always remember our days at Slane Farm Hostel.

Slane farm was the Ideal location for this fairy themed hen of 30 women of all ages. I searched all over Ireland to find this gem. When I visited the site I knew it was the most perfect location!

The staff were lovely and incredably helpful from start to finish and answered every request with enthusiasm.

We were left to our own devises. Taking over the farm. Decorating the hostel and cottages and dressing up as fairies. We stayed in two cottages and the hostel. These were all spotlessly clean and well maintained, had good facilities and thier own homey country cottage feel.

We cooked for ourselves using the ovens at our disposal and all fit in for a sit down meal in the hotel dining room and kitchen.

Cottages and hostel were very resonably priced which ment that our hen didnt cost the earth for people coming to us. We ran our own activities and cooked our own meals every one pitched in and it felt more like a themed girly family gathering that almost everyone could make.

It was ideally located just off of the M3 motorway not far from Dublin and very accesible from everywhere in Ireland.

A shuttlebus was arrainged to the local pub Ryans and Gormloughs for the nights activities. This was a 5 min drive away and had a seperate room with a stage, sound system bar and stove (which was on full blast) when we got there. Fab time there. then back by bus to the hostel again where we stayed up till dawn eating left over cake and chatting. It was great that there wasnt anyone to disturb getting back in.

two thumbs up for this venue. Brilliant for groups, families and couples.

Room Tip: The yellow cottage sleeps 4 has the best beds and the best oven of the purple, yellow and hostel bui...

Just spent a night at The Slane Farm Hostel along with 20 + members of a Stag party and what a great experience we had.The open space of the farm allowed us to put up a large marque with a full PA system and band, and we played until 4 in the morning without the worry of upsetting anyone apart from the donkeys, chickens and goats that gazed on from across the fence !!
The 2 kitchens allowed us to cook for everyone, the cottages were spotless and cosy and the dorms felt more like sleeping in a family home than some Spartan hostel. Its location close to the motorway and central to Dublin and Belfast made it convenient for everyone to travel.

From my first phone call the family run business co operated with my every request and couldn't have been nicer. For anyone booking a trip away with a large group why stay in an overpriced, generic hotel when you can experience a location like this ??

Two thumbs up for an Irish success story

Barry

Room Tip: Make use of the Dorms, they are very comfortable and depending on your numbers are very very cheap...
