In fairness Tankardstown is a beautiful venue with lovely grounds. However the wedding meal we recently had was a letdown.Wrong temperatures of the beef given to guests . Vegetables overcooked to the point of being mush.Starters and desserts were mediocre with long delays between courses.Pity... it could have so much better.

We attended a wedding in Tankardstown yesterday and wish to compliment the establishment for a superb experience. The staff had just the right mix of professionalism and efficiency together with warmth and sincerity. The food was first class and attention to detail left nothing to be desired. The ambiance was delightful and despite being a place of grandeur one didn't feel in the least overawed or intimidated by the old world charm and luxury on display.
I would strongly recommend this Hotel if you want the perfect base to explore the many delights of County Meath both in terms of heritage and history or indeed as a wedding venue for an experience you will not regret. It was flawless in every respect and memories will linger long after the credit card bills come rolling in ....

Stayed here in February 2014. We stayed in a lovely cottage just for one night with dinner. Had a fantastic time and would highly recommend. Best points:
It's about 40 minutes from the M50 (N2) junction. And given that I'm only five minutes from that, we got there and back in no time! Seriously close to Dublin but very much in the country
Very nice cottage, warmed up nice and quickly, very cosy. Good tea and coffee (Nespresso) facilities in the cottage, well equipped, very comfy bed.
Meal in the evening was fantastic, very tasty, lovely service too.
There is a hot tub which I hadn't realised before getting there unfortunately, next time I will bring my swimsuit!
Unfortunately had to be up reasonably early the next day so couldn't enjoy the bar in the main house but it looked like the perfect place to settle in for the evening.
All the staff were extremely pleasant.
Stay here!

My husband surprised me with an overnight stay in this beautiful house for my birthday. It was a great experience from the moment we arrived until we left.

We stayed in the main house - in Roisin - a beautiful room. We also had dinner in the restaurant - we were very surprised that it was so reasonably priced for such a high standard of food.

There is not much to do here except enjoy the tranquility and relax but we really enjoyed getting away from everything and experience something different.

This is a lovely house with lovely staff especially the night manager. I would definitely recommend this place.

Myself and my wife stayed here on Valentine's night 2014. We opted for a cottage (no.3) which is based right beside the main house and closer to the restaurants than the rooms in the main house. With a cottage you also get full access to the main house (which has a bar and some very nice drawing rooms). Our cottage had a good sized kitchen (with nespresso machine, and fully stocked fridge). There was a sitting room downstairs (with an electric fire and flat screen tv) couch/day bed and two arm chairs. Their was also a bathroom with a shower on the ground floor. Upstairs was a big bedroom, with walk in wardrobe and ensuite with a shower and separate bath. There was also another locked room (which was another bedroom which was locked to us as we were only a couple). The cottage also had wifi (only accessible through our laptops and iPads but not through our phones).

We had lunch in "The Cellar" restaurant - very nice place and quite reasonably priced. Food was good. For dinner we ate in the Brabazon restaurant. The food was really superb. Seemingly they have just hired a new chef (I think it was his third day). All our courses were excellent, and the staff were also very good.

The go runs are very nice and you can walk around the grounds at your leisure.

All in all we could not recommend this place enough.

I stayed here in the main house for a wedding and it was bliss. The room was the beautiful, the best I have ever stayed in and the bed was so comfortable I slept like a log. The food was excellent. I didnt want to leave the breakfast room! I love everything about this place and I really hope that one day ill get a chance to return.

We visited Tankardstown House just after Christmas for a wedding. What a fantastic intimate wedding venue it was! From the huge elegant Christmas tree which greeted us in the entrance hall to the fine furnishings, the blazing fines, the friendly competent staff, the beautiful cloakrooms, the luxurious bedrooms, the excellent food and everything in between.........Tankardstown House has to be one nicest wedding venues that I have been to in a long time!
