“Hidden Treaasure”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

I didnt even know Roscommon had a castle until I chanced across this location. Its located in a a public park which also houses a chidlren's playground and a duck pond. Information boards located at the castle are informative and offer artist's impressions of the castle during two different periods of its life.

The outer walls of the castle are well preserved althought there is very little left of the internal structures.

Other information boards in the park give information on the local wildlife and flora. There is no entry fee and free parking is available at two different entrances.

“Beautiful place”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

Lovely place with a lot to do and best of all FREE. Exercise machine for the adults, kids playground for all ages, nice pond with ducks, a safe place for all the family to play. It could do with some public toilets as with kids and spending there quite some time... the need will eventually arise!!!
