Nice hotel with good facilities. Not family friendly. Stayed in hotel with 20 families and friends. Hotel staff didn't want children there. Price was fair with the accommodation and breakfast provided.

This hotel had a overly setting and had a leisure centre with a pool. I arrived on Saturday evening -at about 7 pm. Pool was closed and I was told it would not reopen until after breakfast. Most people, I think, want to use a pool before breakfast. Room could have been developed as olde world charm-it was simply old and tired and not at all comfortable. Facilities poor and service awful. Completed customer survey with similar comments to these but never heard again from anyone at the hotel. Impression I got was this is what we have - take it or leave it

We stayed here with our 1 year old and 4 year old over easter weekend. The staff were all really friendly and so helpful. The room was spacious and clean and had a lovely view of the old abbey. The leisure centre was great with convenient opening hours. The selection of food for breakfast was great and of excellent quality. While the decor could do with a little touch up in places, it is a cosy family friendly hotel. Would recommend it.

Stayed for two nights for leisure purposed Pleasant location, Friendly staff. Bedroom needs painting -tired and dated. Well worn bed spread and carpet. Lack of variety in Breakfast. Perhaps there were events on in hotel as it was difficult to find a parking spot.

Great hotel with great food and very pleasant staff. The swimming pool is clean and not crowded. Loads of little corners to sit around in for a cosy chat while the log fire burns and crackles its like home away from home

As a regular visitor of the abbey I feel it gets better every time....arrived on Sunday past and left this morning....the staff are a credit to the abbey...can never do enough for you....had a lovely room on the 2nd floor...prefer this end of the hotel as we have stayed down the bottom end and didn't rate it...
The food.....well beautiful good service and friendly staff serving it...went to the races complimentary bus which was great...also served food a bit later than normal which was great....
Lovely and relaxing which is why we stay in the abbey...
The pool and sauna was great nice to wind down....can't wait for my next return planning it as we speak....
Well done abbey and staff....
