Two night stay in windy Sligo. Beautiful spot in the world. The hotel is on the waters edge and has loads of facilities including a leisure centre. The pool area was very busy with kids so didn't bother going for a swim. The hotel has everything covered- bar food, music in the bars, great service and food in the restaurant. Friendly staff. Would recommend it for families for a longer stay but two nights without the kids was fine.

If you don't expect any more than a 3 star experience then you won't be disappointed.
Lots of children running around. No safe or fridge in the room. No shampoos ect in the bathrooms.
The food is fair but you feel that with more effort the whole place could be a lot better.
The staff are accommodating.
One thing that was unexpected and left a bad taste in our mouths was when we were checking IN yes I said IN. We were asked to settle our account in full. They said that this was their policy. Funny how they never pointed this out at the point of booking. In other words pay up in full before your even allocated a room. We didn't like this and found it off putting. Overall a very 3 star set up. There are much better places to stay.

Dear DublinDave007,

Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback, we are a three star hotel located beside the beach which attracts a large amount of families at this time of year. As a three star hotel safes and fridges on our rooms are not a requirement. We have taken your comments onboard and they will be brought to our next management meeting

Went here on Sat July 26 for one night B&B and Dinner. This hotel is well equipped for familiies - kiddies club, swimming pool and also a spa. This weekend it was very full and there was kids every where. Dinner is just a set menu - very plain - no other choices. Rooms large and clean. Nice area/scenary to explore and magnificent golf club near by. As a couple if you want to get away its a bad choice.

We stayed at the hotel at the end of June as part of a large family of 10. Firstly the hotel is situated in a stunning location, that you would be hard pushed to beat anywhere in the UK or Ireland.

Arrived on the Friday night and had dinner in the hotel. Service was fine however the food wasn’t the best, certainly nothing to complain about as we got a good deal, however I had the Beef main which was very dried out and the deserts were nothing to brag about.

Breakfast the next day was very nice. Buffet with plenty of choice.

There was evening entertainment on for the children which was good, because it was situated in a function suit, so you could still have a peaceful evening without being subjected to the singing and dancing.

The rooms are great, very specious and comfortable and no problems with getting a good sleep.

I didn’t use the leisure facilities so cant comment.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and hope to return again in the future.

My husband & I stayed here for three nights and were very pleased. The food was delicious and the dining room decor was lovely. It faces the sea. We availed of the seaweed bath which was great. There was music each night in the lounge. The location is also good. Will definitely be back.

Have stayed here on a regular basis & am usually happy with stay. However, even though we got a lovely spacious room with a sea view, i was very disappointed with food. I had, when booking & also via phone call requested vegetarian, low-fat, wheat-free food. Breakfast was ok (just about), got gluten-free bread, but no cooked option, just tomato. When trying to order dinner in the bar, there was actually nothing available, the vegetable soup was made with chicken stock, the pasta was wheat, as were the spring rolls. I asked if I could have salad or vegetables or potato without butter but was told that wasn't possible. I ended up having just melon (for dinner) on a six night break. On the plus side i found the staff to be pleasant, courteous & helpful but feel that dietary needs should be addressed

Room Tip: Request a room with a sea view

From the reviews of this hotel I thought it would be mediocre at best, but this gem of a hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. Reading some of the review I had been skeptic but I am always willing to give a hotel a try.

The rate I was given was 2 nights bed & breakfast with an evening meal and very cheap compared to other hotels in Sligo, Great as we had a family of four.

Contrary to the reviews about reception not making you feel welcome, we could have not been more welcome by the girls on that day. We had just got off a flight and drove to the hotel so we were extremely tired by the time we got there. The girls even entertained our youngest sitting on the counter while I signed the forms.

There was a lot of children in the hotel at the time and some had ran through the corridors late at night which woke my youngest but we were glad to hear the receptionist give out to these children. My own children are noisy when they are hyper! Where are the parents??? It is not the hotel's fault that parents leave their children to do this (I overheard a guest complaining to the staff about them)! I have also noted in previous comments other people blame the hotel for this!! I'm sorry but if your children are young enough to want to "play" and at 11 pm at night maybe look at bringing a babysitter on holidays with you.

Breakfast was great with plenty of choice, my children are picky so the buffet was great. Staff were very welcoming an could so no more for you. Only suggestion would be trays to carry food to the table, the kids can't carry hot plates.

Kids club is great for keeping the little ones entertained and also the leisure centre, this was all included free with our package, in my eyes this is a bonus.

Overall we had a brilliant stay and will be back for a stay on our holidays next year.
