“Best spot in Fayetteville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2013

Part of me doesn't want to write this review because I want this place to stay under the radar. I created an account on tripadvisor just to write this review. I've stayed here multiple times and it never disappoints. The management staff is awesome, the location can't be beat, and the rooms are spectacular. This is one of my favorite places to stay anywhere in the US, and I've traveled to 3 continents. I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Love it!

Dickson Street Inn is located (obviously) on Dickson Street--the entertainment center of Fayetteville. The rooms are top notch and the location absolutely cannot be beat. We have stayed here more than a few times and it is great that you can walk home from the bars, concert, or dinner. Ask for a room overlooking Dickson Street--it's beautiful at night.

Service is what one would expect at this price point: unobtrusive, impeccable, and thoughtful. Bob (the assistant manager) has been bending over backwards to work with my husband's schedule--it takes many emails and phone calls in order to make a final booking with my husband's ever-changing schedule. Bob is always polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. Bob's dedication and patience is incredible and he makes this place that much better. We've dealt with a few other employees (don't remember names--sorry!) who were also incredibly willing to meet our needs.

This place can be a bit out of some people's price range, but the ease of being right on Dickson is often worth it---along with the beautiful, lush rooms. Be aware--this is a converted building (an old sorority house I believe) and some rooms run a bit small. We never had an issue with room size and we've stayed in a few different rooms.

Room Tip: Some people complain about the noise from Dickson Street. We've never had an issue with this, bu...

Dickson Street Inn stands on the busiest entertainment street in Fayetteville; if you're interested in spending time on Dickson Street and the downtown square (about a six to eight minute walk away), the convenience is unbeatable.

Some have complained about noise from Dickson Street at night. We stayed on a Tuesday night, in a room (#6) at the back of the building, and didn't hear any noise. If you're in a room overlooking the street or are staying on a Friday or Saturday, noise might be an issue.

Our room (#6) was small, without a table or chair, but the bed was large and very comfortable and there was a nice whirlpool bath. The furnishings were attractive, tasteful, and of quality build. Very clean. Air-conditioning was remote-controlled, quiet, and very effective. There were nice semi-private patios around the back of the building.

The house is attractive and over 100 years old. It is not expansive, but that didn't bother us.

Service was wonderful - polite and accommodating. Because there were several vacancies, they offered to upgrade our room at no cost (we declined).

Breakfast was continental, but high quality. We had fresh grapes and three kinds of fresh berries, yogurt, bagels, cereal, and very good coffee and creamer. Several kinds of pastries were also available, but because we were the only people having breakfast that day and weren't interested in pastries, they weren't set out and I don't know what they were like.

There is limited parking; I think I counted five parking spaces, so if all nine rooms are full some people would have to park a short walk away in lots maintained by the city. The lots cost $5; if a spot is available at the inn and you choose to use it, a $5 charge is added to your bill.

No swimming pool or fitness center.

Room Tip: Room 6 is small and features no table or chairs, but does have a large bathtub with whirlpool jets...

This little gem has a friendly and helpful staff. They have done an excellent job preserving the historic charm and melding of modern amenities. The rooms can be little quirky, but, are tastefully decorated and they work overall. This is not a place for the light sleeper. It sits in the heart of the entertainment district. It is noisy until late at night & during the daytime hours you hear delivery trucks etc... That being said, I would most definitely recommend & stay there again.

Very clean and no detail over looked. Mini bar in the room is stocked very well. The balcony for the room was fantastic! The air conditioning works very well too. The staff are eager to help and are very nice people.

My aunt and I ended our trip in Fayetteville Ar to reminise of her college days. We reserved our stay at Dickson Inn. they only had one room left, a king, right in the heart of downtown night life. It was rather small for the two of us private ladies. Upon arrival the young lady was so very nice, we voiced our concerns. They have 3 beautiful properties. She moved us (at the same rate) to the condo east of down town attached to the owners home. When we arrived there, the owners greeted us..gave us a tour. The wildlife outside the balcony was enough to make it a retreat, but the inside was heaven. I could have lived comfortably in this condo. Luxury bedding, big screen TV, all the extras. We were looking for something different for dinner, their teenager gave us a referral to the perfect pizza place (ofcourse a teenager knows these things) It was Perfect. Coffee on the balcony in the morning watching the red fox come to the spring and drink
The total experience was a well deserved rest after staying at The Basin in Eureka Springs. We recommend the Dickson properties. The service was perfect. We will return!

Room Tip: There are only a few rooms, so call the desk for a description of the properties. They will be happy...

Stayed here last weekend for a friends birthday party. A gem of a place and the entire staff is wonderful. Very private, but right on the main drag. The location could not be better! I absolutely will stay here again when in Fayetteville.
