“Most Helpful Receptionist Ever”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

My sister and I recently spent 14 wonderful days in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Close to the end of our trip we had spent a lovely night at the Strandhill Lodge and Suites in Strandhill. After we had checked out we inadvertently got our one rental car key caught on the inner lip of the car trunk. Nothing we tried worked, nor did our cell phone. Lisa, the receptionist on duty, came to our rescue by calling first Avis who referred us to AA. We are US AAA members so they sent a gentleman out to help us. Lisa kept in contact with him and AA until he arrived and saved us by getting our key out. We were on our way in less than an hour and a half. We will never forget Lisa's help and caring manner.

We've just returned from 5 nights at the strandhill suites (myself, husband and 1 year old daughter) this is our 2nd time here and I can't wait to go back next year. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the suites are beautiful and the breakfast has everything you could want/need.

It's a short stroll down to the beach and right next door to the lodge and suites is the venue, lovely food and again really nice staff.

If you're looking for a nice relaxing holiday in Ireland I can't recommend the strandhill suites and strandhill enough

Thank you for a lovely break

I was really impressed with this boutique hotel located in Strandhill about 5 kms from Sligo Town. It is a great location whether touring or playing golf on some of the best link courses in Ireland. The staff are very friendly and helpful and make you feel at home. The bedrooms are very spacious and some rooms have a balcony so you can step outside and enjoy the view and air from your bedroom. The room I stayed in over looked Strandhill Golf course and the Bay. There was complimentary bottles of water in the room which is always welcome. There is complimentary WiFi available and free car park at back of hotel. The continental breakfest which is self service provided plenty of choice and was more than enough to get one going for the day. There is no food available in evening however there is a Bar/Restaurant next door called the Venue and it is great for food and a drink.

Room Tip: Ask for room on first floor at back with balcony

Thankyou for your review and for your kind comments.

Our golf enthusiasts always wax lyrical about how wonderful the golf course is in Strandhill and the stunning views you can get while playing. The fact that we overlook the course is a great bonus to us and surely whets the appetite of any golf enthusiast.

We try to offer a one - all inclusive price which means what you are quoted is always what you pay and we like to add value to your stay by including extras such as complimentary tea/voffee/chocolate and biscuits in addition to the complimentary water in the rooms and free WIFI.

I'm delighted to read you enjoyed the breakfast also - we always strive to satisfy all tastes.

I look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Stayed here with my Mum a few weeks ago for an overnight on our way to Westport / Galway.
I booked a suite as I thought it had a balcony (my mistake) It was such a beautiful day and really wanted to sit outside and relax as my mum can't walk very far. The girl on reception was a doll she swapped us rooms to facilitate my mum. The rooms are fab, very spacious, spotless & have the added bonus of a fridge. Ice Machine & vending machine in Hallway.
Pub with restaurant right next door which they are only too glad to make a reservation for you.
Main pubs & beech not within walking (if bad on feet) but only 5 min drive. If they had more rooms I would be putting our coach tours in here!

Room Tip: Suites have no Balconies! lol

Strandhill is a beautiful location with many activities, bars and restaurants and so i'm delighted you got to experience an array of both.

I will pass on your kind comments to the staff.

We stayed here for a night in July whilst on a roadtrip around West Ireland. The hotel is only a few years old, the beds are huge as are the rooms. The only discomfort was the temperature.....it was very warm and we had to have a fan on all night. However, the receptionist confirmed that this is being resolved later this year as air conditioning is being installed. Breakfast is continental, location is close to the beachfront - approx 15minute walk.

Dear KEEBO925

Thankyou for your review and i'm glad that you elected to stay with us during your roadtrip of Ireland. The Wild Atlantic Way is proving so popular with tourists and it is a blessing that Strandhill is one of hte jewels on the route.

I'm sorry that the temperature in the room was a little too close for you the summer can be quite humid at times but we will seek to resolve that issue in the near future.

Thankyou again for your review and i hope you enjoyed the rest of your Ireland road trip.

Great central location in Strandhill, good parking, excellent rooms. A truly outstanding boutique hotel. We got a great deal when we booked and were really impressed when we checked in. The staff are knowledgable and friendly and gave us good advice on beach walks and local restaurants.
There is a room set up with an Apple computer and printer, free wifi and tea, coffee and biscuits 24/7.

Our room was spacious with fantastic sea views and a balcony. Whoa !!!
Breakfast was continental but there was more than enough and with boiled eggs available and warm croissants we were more than happy. Will definitely return.

Room Tip: ask for a sea view -- most rooms have it.
