A long narrow dining room with close seating is neither relaxing nor intimate. There is an atmosphere though - If you enjoy the bustle of a dining room you can, while you eat watch the extremely busy kitchen at work or admire some of the good art work hung around the room.

The menu sports a good early bird options, so get there before 7 and take advantage of a narrower but better value selection.
It's an ambitious menu, a little of everything, so no matter what type of food you have a hankering for, you'll probably find something to match here. The steak was great as was the shrimp on a separate occasion. The wine menu is varied, if not deep and the deserts are hearty and decorative.

They do a roaring trade in take out so the kitchen is busy even when the dining room isn't quite full. But it doesn't stay empty for long. This is a popular place with good reason.
It's decent value and good food and nice friendly service makes for an enjoyable dining experience.

Read some good reviews of this restaurant and some very poor reviews. My experience was of the poor variety. Left waiting too long without explanation and waiting staff abrupt to rude in attitude.
Food of take away quality which seems to be its major business.
Amazed that it is as popular as it appears. Not again!!

This is the most overrated eatery that I have been in for a long time. It is basically a fast food takeaway with nothing only 5 euro pizzas being collected. While all this is going on you are being served very ordinary dished up greasy plates with some garnish and sauces. The core main courses are very basic and extremely expensive. The quality of the steak is poor and the chicken has no flavour. Desert choice is non existent and you feel you are not wanted as soon as you are served.

We had dinner on Saturday evening when we were with family for first holy communion celebrations. We have visited Oscars over the years and the menu has never changed and you know what to expect. We have always left satisfied in not thrilled with the experience because there has been no choice in Mullingar.Mullingar is renowned for beef to the "heels" so you would expect good steak. There were three steaks in our group and while they were larger than what was ordered quality went out the door.Deserts are by and large non existent and you must leave your table before you have your meal digested to make room for another victim. The girl that served our table was very friendly and could not have been more considerate and helpful however we went away believing that this restaurant need to review their purchasing of meat and taste the product themselves to understand what is being allowed to be served to the general public.
We will visit again because this restaurant deserves another chance to up their game.

Have eaten here more times than I can remember. Always amazing food. Menu never changes as it doesn't need to. Huge choice of dishes... I'm guilty of always choosing the same ones unfortunately but they are so good! Most amazing banoffi pie in the world! Only downfall is that it is always busy and at times can feel a little tight for space or cramped. I avoid Oscars if I want to have a personal conversation with someone as you are conscious of who is next to you. I always found the staff to be lovely.
